I was waiting for you to comment before chiming in.

Josh Smith is playing a lot smarter and that has been crucial. JJ is playing well. Jamal Crawford cannot play any better than he is now. His PERFECT role is as 1st gun off the bench. His value diminishes as a starter. Al Horford cannot play much better than he is. He's made a solid step forward this season. Bibby fits a limited niche as a spot-up shooter.

Woody seems to have the team's attention right now. I'm concerned that will not last the season. In fact, we really can't conclude much about the Hawks until they hit some serious adversity and have problems. Their reaction to setbacks will tell the tale. Let's talk again after they hit a stretch of losing 4/5 games. IMO, their early success is fragile.

I still think the Hawks need a creative floor general as a starting PG in place of Bibby. That might make them a Finals contender if Woody and the players stay on the same page the whole season.

Bibby has been stinking up my fantasy team.

Agreed on all the players roles and everything seemingly fitting very well. I loved Crawford's addition from the moment it happened. Hopefully he can be the new Jason Terry (good numbers/bad teams before being put in a winning situation). Horford needs to stay in the double/double/two block range. If he can do that the Hawks are going to be VERY tough on in the interior (especially with Josh's weakside shot blocking). I'm also curious what's going on with Marvin Williams. Until last night where he decimated us, he's been largely unimpressive this year. Well, he got his contract....time to deliver.

Josh has always been the real wild card in terms of chemistry and being on the same page with Woodson. Those two have had quite the checkered history together but they've apparently made serious strides in the right direction. I'm happy to say that i've only seen "the look" from Woodson after Josh takes a dumb shot or makes a boneheaded play only a few times this season.

Baller how has Jeff Teague looked in his limited playing time that you have seen him play?

The key to the Hawks' success is and has always been Josh Smith understanding the game.

I think Bibby is a nice fit for the Hawks though. Joe Johnson is a playmaking wing more in the mold of Wade, Lebron, and Brandon Roy. He and Atlanta won't benefit much from a setup point guard next to him like Carmelo Anthony benefited from Chauncey Billups. In fact, a traditional PG would just get in the way, imo.

He looks decent. The first thing that stands out when you watch him is his lightening quick speed. It serves as a stark contrast to Bibby, who is basically a statue on both ends of the floor. But Teague has a monster first step, nice lateral quickness to potentially stay in front of the quick PG's (something Bibby can't do) and seemingly has range on his shot. If he can spot-up and hit the open jumper he's already better than Acie Law ever was. Law was a similar player: tons of speed, good athlete, nice handle....he just couldn't shoot to save his life. Compound that with his confidence issues and you have a player that probably won't ever "get it". If Teague can remain confident, take the game in strides and hit those open jumpers he's already an upgrade.

Bibby is a decent but far from ideal fit. Bibby's limitations as a player on both ends become JJ's problems. JJ handles the majority of the playmaking duties and is often stuck defending opposing PG's that Bibby is unable to handle. And while Bibby's shooting and intangibles are important, I would prefer a better defender and athlete manning the point in Atlanta.

Agreed. I was more defending the fit of Bibby's type of player (limited playmaker but good shooter that spaces the floor) than him specifically, you're right a better defender would help. But, come on, you guys can't take all the athletes...save some for the rest of the league. :p
