Well the chemistry comment is a very fair one, and true, it would impact players like Brooks development. So, you have a very valid point there. DD
Fail. Landry is having a breakout season and will be an all-star next year. Why would we trade an all-star for a young knuckle-head? wtf?
My comment about maggette wasn't really directed at you but rather to those who actually would want maggette...
Landry will be an all-star next year? wtf what are you smoking? tell me who will he beat out on the west squad: Nowitzki, West, Amare, Duncan, Gasol, Al Jefferson, Boozer....
I wanted him last year, but this year, we really don't need him so much. As for his play on the court, he is an efficient scorer, but clearly he doesn't play hard for GS. One would hope that if he came here his good buddy Shane could get him motivated to play, but if not, who cares, he would sit behind everyone else and have to earn playing time. Sometimes a good boot in the arse is what NBA players need. DD
Who are you? My 6th grade English teacher that is stalking the hell out of me! This is a fan forum not an English forum get over it.
If Landry keeps improving at his current rate, I would actually see him in a year being superior to all of those except Gasol, Nowinzki, and maybe Jefferson and Duncan. Duncan's getting old, Amare and Boozer aren't good defenders (well, actually this means that they have a better chance of being All-Stars but not better players, if you understand what I'm saying) and David West? Seriously? He'd be nobody if he wasn't with the best PG in the league?
Lol I'm sorry DD but have you seen Ellis play at all? I have a feeling Ellis is playing too well to get traded even though he wants out and Randolph, well he just needs a new team. Even though I know Randolph is going to be something in the future I can't see any of this happen for the Rockets. He seems like too much of a risk for the Rockets unless he could be had at the right price. Landry + CBud = Randolph??? Landry is near unstoppable and Randolph is just untapped potential. And for that other move, Randolph, Ellis, Maggette/Biedrins for McGrady, CookieM, other PocketHulk ...is too lopsided. Looks like the Warriors would want Ellis to stay after regaining his All-Star stats. I'm not sure GSW see Maggette as a loaded contract they seem to play him good minutes. Again I can't see any of this happen but I wouldn't mind seeing the Rockets develop Randolph.
Randolph might be the most overrated player on this BBS. Seriously, the guy is Eddie Griffin part II.
Chase and Landry for a misfit?!?!?!?! Noooooo. Yikes, it is not always about talent ppl, if you don't have the discipline to go with it, you are useless. If the GSW big heads are trying "anything and everything" to get rid of him? FLASHING WARNING SIGNS.
I agree with you about the David West part, but Landry would have to have an exceptional season (20-25 ppg and 8-10 RPG) to unseat those other guys, even if he was by all objective standards a better player at the time. I personally have high hopes for Landry as a tough inside grinder in the mold of a more motivated and skilled Millsap type, but he has to peak in order to achieve all-star status in my book. Not to mention what Yao's return would do for his numbers. There is no question though that Landry is a guy that should remain a Rocket for the forseable future.
Edit: Man did that get jacked.... My main point is how can anyone guauge Landrys ceiling? He adds something new to his game every summer. 70% of the league doesn't. I don't care that he is older. He is constantly improving. He would drop an efficient 20 a game if not for Scola. I'm not saying his ceiling is as high as Randolphs, but potential isn't always met and I would prefer not to ship off a dude with Carls work ethic.
Honestly these are the type of downright r****ded posts that drive me up a wall. Clearly the first guy doesn't have a clue about what the f he is talking about but since he saw randolph play once for 3 minutes feels qualified to make an asinine comparison to Eddie freaking Griffin, and the second guy doesn't even bother to read the posts right above his, which would have ideally precluded him from making the same erroneous and tired mischaracterizations of the player's character. FLASHING WARNING SIGNS THE GSW ORG. WAS JUST SELECTED AS THE WORST NBA ORG OF THE PAST DECADE BY SI, FLASHING WARNING SIGNS DOES THAT TELL YOU ANYTHING?????? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...ba.highlights.lowlights/index.html?xid=cnnbin
unfortunately I think that Megette days as a valuable player in any role have been greatly diminished, the guy only seems to want to get his, no matter what happens to the team, and he has been that way his whole career in the NBA. losing doesn't seem to bother him (like it did to Jackson who wanted out and to Ellis who also wanted out and may still want out), which tells me that winning isn't all that important to him as it should be, as long as he gets his 15 shots a game.
Imagine a future Carl Landry armed with a reliable three point shot, and improved defence skills, including blocking interior field goal attempts!
I'm not sure why people think we can get Ellis and Randolph just for Tmac. That seems very unlikely to me. We'd probably be more likely to get Biedrins, who could be a serviceable center until Yao returns. But his contract is bad and he's injured, so... I doubt Ellis gets traded just for Tmac. It might be easier to get Randolph and/or Brandan Wright for other players.
these are not comments that don't get help from the player in question. You must watch stat sheets and say, "wow, he scores and rebounds soo well". Anthony is a 6'10 SF that needs the ball to score. I saw it Summer league. He has raw ability but his B-ball IQ is atrocious. He is wild in the court and thinks he can do it all by himself. Is he a misfit? no. Is he Eddie Griffin part 2? I sure hope not for his sake. but he's not a team player.
