He won't blow it up, but he will upgrade it while the Yao-Martin duo is in their prime.

Yao...good lord...he is past his prime and too injury prone to count on....I hope Morey is not counting on Yao.

To me Yao is like a free extra pick, you can't count on him at all, but you HOPE he can come back strong.

He's under contract. As long as that is the case, Morey will add pieces to improve the team WITH Yao as part of the plan.

Just as I have been saying....everything for THIS year and as many expirings as possible in case they have to rebuild.

Don't want to blow up the core of a 42-40 powerhouse by getting rid of a 5-9 shooting guard.

Scoring PG, without a dominate big man = no championship.

    Just ask the Magics.

I think we will have a much better idea of AB's potential with a full compliment of players back next year.

Was asked to do too much scoring last year and not enough distributing.

Should be interesting with Yao, Martin, and a potential free agent how many shots Brooks will be able to get up every night.

Who was Isaiah Thomas' dominate big man?

Dennis Rodman, but he only dominated the defensive end.

    Maybe that's the key.

Bill Laimbeer, Rich Mahorn, John Salley, James Edwards was a very good front court rotation for the mugging style of play they were allowed.

You can't upgrade everything at once. You have to prioritize, and the number one priority is going to be that hole in the middle of the lineup.

And yes, Brooks will improve, most mostly on what he's already good at.

Well, if he does throw up 18ppg & 10 ast on 50% shooting, that would be great next season, but he still wouldnt be Kyle lowry.

True, that would make him a backup.

I'll gladly see him starting if he ever does that. That should be able more than enough to offset his lack of defense. He can have fewer points than that that as long as he dishes out 10 asts per game shooting 50%.

I doubt that would ever happen though.

Brooks was the 2nd best player on our team last year.

I'm not saying that he will still be the 2nd best this year, but lets not pretend like Brooks isn't a significant part of this team.

What's up with the backup quarter back syndrome going around this forum? When Alston was here, everyone was clamoring for Brooks to start over him. Then finally they make the deal that gives the reins to Brooks and next year he gets the most improved player award... but there are still a group of people that think Lowry should start.

    I don't get it.

    It is bizzare, for sure.

Those are MVP type of numbers.....Nash type, I doubt he gets that high.

But maybe something like 17ppg and 8 assists.....and shooting 45%....
