Cam Whitmore traded to Wizards for 2 2nd round picks

Certainly interesting stuff. And to be fair, Cam only played 17 minutes, which is borderline when it comes to analyzing BPM.

Of course, that begs the question - why is Cam only playing 17 minutes in a preseason game for an awful Wizards team?

 

Only played 10 minutes in 2nd game but in preseason minutes are all over the place......he is backing up CJ McCollum it looks like.

I was against trading Cam for the return we received - although I understand why they traded him as the total focus is on winning a championship this year and not giving reps to develop players who don't yet play championship level team ball. Nevertheless, I want to bury this thread now that the new season is starting! I am a Rockets only Fan. Cam Whitmore is not a Rocket.

Yes it's over and I trust Udoka and Stone, they know far better than any of us why Cam shouldn’t be with the team right now. He didn’t even want to be here, so why bother caring? It’s not like we just traded away Doncic.

 

That is like saying, I can't think for myself, I need Stone, Fertitta and Udoka to think for myself.

Eh. My frustration was seeing the top 5 threads all being versions of one of the following.... Guys that will never be Rockets, Former Rockets, Trades that don't work under CBA, and Other Irrelevant Crap just as the season ramps up. We have actual Rockets basketball to discuss as we embark on a season that could be the beginning of a historic run of Rockets greatness.

 

Totally agree with you! I prefer we discuss which lineups we have will be most efficient for our team...I hope Reed plays well tonight if he's in the starting lineup

He was 14th in overall minutes that game for the Wizards. I’m not sure it’s fair to say he’s backing up any starter at the moment.

 

Typically if a young guy the team wants to develop isn't getting pre-season run it's a coach's issue with the player.

Looking forward to 20 years from now when Cam Whitmore is coaching the Greek national team.
