I totally don't agree, I think Ime is the guy that is making the calls and Stone is just contracts etc...but Ime has final say.

Jalen Green does not seem to be a Ime player. It looks like Stone goes out and gets what Ime wants usually. The Green extension with Brooks's contract matching up perfectly contracts like Durant's and Gianis's, and then Green starting all year does not seem like Ime has final say. Stone seems more flexible than Ime such that Ime generally gets what he wants.

There's nothing reported to suggest that Cam didn't just f*ck things up on the Rockets....

Green for all of his warts tried on the court, had a good attitude, and followed what the coaching staff instructed.... Cam did the opposite. This notion that Ime and the coaching staff played favorites is just crazy. It should be obvious to any fan that Ime and co favor defense, execution, and effort over things like shooting percentage.

I wish Cam worked out differently but the market spoke on his value and we simply don't have the time to manage some rookie contract diva that we gave 2 seasons worth of opportunities to.

Jalen Green never had the body language of Cam in any capacity. He had his limitations but at least he put in effort every time he stepped onto the court. Which is ultimately why he had such a long leash. Cam just didnt give enough ****s to get drafted in the Top 10 and subsequently to earn a rotation spot on a team that could've easily given him one.

A Celtics fan at my work said "what happened to Cam Whitmore, why did you let him go?!" all surprised. I just said "if he misses he doesn't run back on defense, and has no hustle" and he just laughed and said "What, for Ime Udoka?" and shook his head. It says it all really.

I do agree that Jalen Green and Cam have different issues. However, while Jalen may have nodded along and went with the coaching staff suggestions, his play never really changed since being drafted His shot distribution, shooting percentage, assists on a rate basis, etc. have all been shockingly consistent through both the Silas and Udoka years. And these numbers have always been subpar for a lead scorer. He's also consistently getting the worst lineup stats among the major rotation players. Most of his teammates do worse when he's on the court vs. when he's off. So it's not like he's an intangibles guy either.

In the end, the Rockets are better off with both players leaving, even if they may blossom elsewhere. Neither was going to succeed here.

Not a single team offered a wait first rounder for Whitmore. Food for thought.

Everyone knows what he is. He's a losing player. Talented but a cancer. Just like KPJ

I basically agree with this. Stone checks out the possibilities, and Ime gets a veto, because the fundamental commitment when we hired Ime was to play his style of ball. And if Stone ever decides not to give Ime the final call, that's effectively a decision to move on from Ime.

It does make me wonder about Sheppard. Short player who gambles on D, can't hold his ground, and often gets abused? He reeks of not-an-Ime-guy. And yet we picked him. Maybe the explanation there is that Ime said, OK, let's see if he can solve some of our offense creation and spacing problems ... but I won't give him real minutes till he stops bleeding buckets at the other end.
