Cam Whitmore on 12-21-23 vs the Rip City Remix is 1-11 in the first half (0 for 5 from 3). Not great.

And terrible basketball by the Vipers. Yuck.

Since I don't have ESPN+, I haven't been able to watch these past couple of games. :( Can you tell me if they're doubling him or if they're guarding him close on 3's? A lot of his 3's in the past have been fairly open. I'm just wondering if this is "reversion to the mean" we're seeing with his 3 point shooting. He's been shooting out of his mind on 3's in the G-League, and I thought that would be the one thing that would help lead to him being on the Rockets' roster. Maybe he's just tired on a back-to-back and playing heavy minutes.

He was very cold early in this game. The Rip City D is nothing profound; no double teams. Just size at the rim.

I would say, in general, that the Vipers aren't playing much together. Whitmore is often open but other people are getting the shots. it's not a smooth partnership that other people are giving up their shots to help him advance. Tough situation.

Final stats: 6-22 (4-13 from 3), 2 of 3 from the FT line, 19 points
