Udoka mentioned in the last press conference that they have put in a structure where there is .5 seconds to shoot, pass, or drive, I think. You can see Cam adhering to this.
FWIW, i think this is a really good way for young players to play and I was advocating for it in the Silas era so I'm thrilled Udoka has a similar sensibility.
Let's try again... On Wednesday against the Nets he played 17 minutes and put up 7 shots.... I am hoping for 15-20 minutes and 6-8 shots tonight against the t-wolves. I really like what I am seeing from Cam Whitmore. His upside looks like a cross between Jaylen Brown and Anthony Edwards. He is sturdy, strong, explosive. It is just a small sample size, but he looks like his upside as a shooter could be better than those two. I am looking forward to an increase in the sample size tonight and another game where he plays meaningful minutes.
All you need are Dillon and Tari to stay out or something for him to get meaningful minutes per game. Also, I still think his upside as a defender means more than his offense. If his offense doesn't change, he's probably still ok especially with that jumper that still is hitting, but as long as he isn't blowing up the defense or looking lost, he already may be "good enough" to get minutes. We'll see.
Cam needs a super hero nickname, that dunk tonight looked like he'd been shot out of a rocket. Rocketman!
I think saying Cam's upside is "a cross between Jaylen Brown and Anthony Edwards" is delusional. I also hope to be wrong.
He’s a turnover machine and has poor handles. The same with Amen. The good thing is that they’re both young and have time to grow. The sky is the limit for them.
