One of the reasons I liked Cam as a prospect is that I buy his shooting long term. He has a natural stroke and the handles to get his own shot. If he just keeps practicing he has the ability to be our best shooter one day. His 2-way potential is also very strong. It’s all about how much work he’s willing to put in. If he puts in the work, he will be a star.
Morey did the same thing to Carl Landry, DMO, and many others, he would talk bad about his players to get them cheaply and talk up other players to try to get them to come here. DD
He already sporting the Coca-Cola advertising on his clothes, plenty of room for Credit Karma still Yeah he's ready
cam is no doubt the biggest winner due to the KPJ fiasco. let's see if he can set up and be that scorer off the bench we all think he can be. for me it will be about refining his shooting form and becoming an efficient player who can pass up shots to get better ones later. he should be watching tons of ray allen footage.
I would still have no idea about his game on the next level other him being a fine slasher, finisher and partial shooter.
So basically Morey is able to manipulate player values through his public speaking? If true that sounds like very good qualities one would want from a GM. Too bad the Rockets switched him out and got Stone instead, who talks up players and then they get arrested and likely kicked out of the NBA.
Talking about what Cam might be going to rather than Wafer. He is built like a tank, Wafer was quick athlete without much of a brain. Cam has better body and strength already. But definitely not seeing him as a shooter per se.
I probably just realized Cam is not as quick as Von Wafer or Corey but hopefully he will grow smarter. He got handles though.
I am not complaining merely pointing it out, ...that is exactly what he did.....he lied about DMo's back, same for Landry, and many many others....the dude, was ruthless. And it is why players by and large don't like him or trust him. DD
On the surface maybe, but MBAs like Morey are completely blind to the second order effects of being a manipulative sleaze. Loss of trust and credibility, alienating key stakeholders, losing any reputational capital that you may have. Morey, as a result of his sleazy way of doing business has become a joke and is universally despised by the NBA community. That's not good for his job, as evidenced by his inability to pull off trades now and attract top talent
