It'll be nice to have a dude who's built like a tank to go with our more agile guards. We have to be one of the most athletic teams in the league right now even without KJ. Cam reminded me a lot of EG on the drive actually in SL, and I mean that as a big complement. He might never be our star scorer, but I can definitely see him being somebody you can count on to drive the lane and power a bucket when he's called on.
Jalen, Jabari, Sengun and eventually Cam are all players you should be able to count on for 20+ a night on any given night. Best of all, Jabari, Sengun and Cam are not undersized.
I don't want to jinx it, but for me, he appears to have more of "it" than anyone on the roster. I don't mean this as disrespect to Jalen, Jabari, Alpi, or Amen, because they all have star potential as well, but I just got a feeling about Cam. I think he will be this year's "Tari" who plays his way into the rotation.
I'm going to vote no but not because I don't believe in him or his obviously high talent level. It's a blessing that even our #4 pick probably has to come off the bench for at least a year. Giving these guys a ladder to climb means they haven't just arrived and it's all gravy, they are expected to continue growing, continue being successful on the court to get where they want to be. Sky is the limit but you still have to blast off from the ground.
Its so funny to me that we are worried about our picks getting time to shine. They had no problem giving minutes to KPJ right away and for the high picks it seems like they've always had an issue. Just an ass backwards org. Give the kid minutes let him shine.
could be a great 3 and D with the help of our defensive/shooting coaches/staff and on top of that - a slashing bully ball war tank
He definitely has more of a chance to get NBA minutes. However, the Rockets may want more veteran backcourt help and I wouldn't be disappointed if Whitmore got big, consistent minutes in the G League his rookie season.
