Cam has slowly gotten better on passing to others when he is blocked by the defense. He is still lost at times defensively, but does go for gambling steals and for rebounds.
Yeah. ESPN has Cam finishing at 35.5%, Reed at 33.8% and Amen at 27.5% (which nearly doubled up his 13.8% as a rookie). Jabari and Tari were also in the mid-30s. I expect each of these guys to improve next season, especially Reed and Amen. Reed to over 40-45% and Amen to the mid-30s. It would be great if Cam/Jabari/Tari could improve to near 40%. I'm probably being optimistic, but IMO, there is a decent chance 3-point shooting is not a weakness for the Rockets next season. At least 2-3 of these 5 will make a jump in long-range shooting.
Jalen would if he stuck to the catch and shoot kind, but he takes really hard 3pt shots at times - sometimes he makes but it brings his percentages down. Cam and Reed have the best form, so they will improve.....Amen getting into the 30s would be incredible. DD
Ime comes from Pop's coaching tree. Apparently Pop was so tough on his players that he would push them around and mess with them mentally just to see if they would break or not. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what is going on with Cam rn. But whatever Ime is doing is working, Cam looked bought in during these last 3 games. Played within the offense and only had a handful of defensive breakdowns that were his fault
I would say Cam is probably still worth more to the Rockets than other teams. If a superstar player is available they are gonna ask for Amen or Sengun. Not Cam
Pop's type of coaching (before he changed) no longer exists in the NBA. It wouldn't be tolerated. Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum loved Ime to death and were crushed when he left the Celtics. They wouldn't have loved the first version of Pop. What Ime does bring from Pop is demanding players put out on both ends of the floor, especially communicating with each other on defense. His final year as an assistant was under Brad Stevens, who preached the physical, muck-it-up, "anything goes", "whatever works", "push the limits" kind of defense.
Of course they are, if you get a Cam for a KD, that might be worth something to their fanbase......Cam has HUGE upside, Lebron knows it, lots of players know it, hard core fans know it.... So of course there are teams trying to take him away as they see his opportunities dwindling in Houston. DD
How can anyone watch what Cam has done the past 2 years and say he’d be a great starting SF. Are you serious?
Hell yes, the guy is relentless, have you watched it? Whenever he gets extended minutes he settles in and plays great. DD
Yes I have watched extensively. He is a black hole who plays with zero feel for the game and very lackluster defensive focus and effort. This isn’t even controversial. He is talented, sure. But he has yet to do much with that.
