I disagree. There are minutes here. We've just been messing around with a 8 person double big lineup.
Cam is the youngest player on the team, he and Reed are 20....... He needs consistent playing time as does Reed get rid of FVV, and Brooks to clear room for guys that will be better than them, real soon. DD
That doesn't mean they're willing to give up much. They're hoping the Rockets are willing to dump in for nothing.
Yeah. No reason to give him away for nothing. He screwed up on defense a couple of times, but he wasn’t pouting last night. If it is him and Fvv, and a pick for Durant, good-bye.
Cam is the perfect player for instant offense off the bench. He's still very young with so much room to grow. I'd like to see him in the role of one of the first guys off the bench next year with 15-20 minutes a game.
Cam Whitmore has a bright future on this team. There is no point in trading a 20 year with such tremendous upside unless there is an elite player out there who will put them team in championship contention.
I like him too, but he is in the way of guys that are going to be better and we have Brooks like guys in Tari and Amen.....already.... Also, we might get quite a lot for him. DD
man, I just don’t get it. How many super young players do you need? Have you watched Dillon this year? He’s 29 freaking years old. He just had his best season as a pro. He was our best shooter this yr and on two more years of what is now a descending value contract. But u want to kick him to the curb for Cam? Cam who hasn’t shot it well since last season? You do realize we are #2 in the west and now pivoting towards championship contention over the next few yrs, right? It’s about winning now. I was as high on Cam as anyone coming off last season, but the get rid of Dillon so Cam can play arguments just don’t make sense after watching both those guys this season. I would have been supportive of that coming into this season. But I would have been wrong.
Brooks is on a great contract, so you may be right in that we could probably get a decent return for him, but I think he would be better as depth. Tari plays for a month and everybody forgets about his injury concerns. Cam still hasn’t proven anything. He won’t be rewarded a role, unless his attitude and defense improves. We are no longer a developing team and that mindset has to change. You don’t give up valuable role players to GIVE non-proven role players a chance. Before the year started, I wanted to trade Brooks because I hated that he was holding Amen back from starting. Now that equation has been solved and he has become a much more well-rounded player, I see no reason to trade him unless the return is too good to pass up. We have control over Cam’s future, he needs to earn his minutes.
