Oh man I remember that day I was furious with the Jaters couldn't put my phone down and you kept poking me to focus on the road. Good times.
Might be stuck at 12th in that case.... I'm not sure anybody wants to move back for the privilege of Cam Whitmore? Just looking back at trading up in the lottery, and it is usually a starter or other future draft assets required to move up. In 2014 pick 12, a future 1nd, and returning a non-lotto (protected) 1st were traded to move up two spots to ten. In 2018 12 plus two 2nds got an advance of 1 spot. It really depends how much he is valued?? Right now surely not much.. Denver trade pick 13 back to 24 and only received Trey Lyle's (on rookie contract). Pick 13 was Donovan Mitchell (!). Yikes.
How many players that are their own worst enemies are you going to side with before you get it? I told you long ago this is 100% on Cam. The Rockets love his potential and have given him chance after chance to grow and show consistent progress as a person and player. At this point in his life Cam doesn’t care enough. You saw what happened to this team when KPJ was allowed to do what he wanted. Those days are over. Cam needs to find a way to dig deep and look in the mirror or he’s going to hurt himself longterm.
Jesus Christ man. He doesn’t play defense. He doesn’t pass. He has a shitty attitude. The game isn’t just about dunking, shooting well on open 3s, and having a nice body. This isn’t on Udoka. It’s on a player who just isn’t good enough or smart enough to play consistently.
I can't think of a player type he's less like than Castle, whose calling card is defensive intensity. Can would get lots of minutes on the wizards and 76ers and other teams that are intentionally trying to lose games, even then I think he might sulk his way out of the rotation
At this point, it comes down to the mental side of being a pro. Cam hasn't shown the maturity it takes to earn a consistent role. We're wildly inconsistent and need his production, but Cam sees himself as a star. It must be beneath him to watch tape, learn from mistakes, and focus on improving. Or he can only do that for a couple of weeks before destructive habits creep in. Perhaps as the trade deadline approached, he saw that as a golden ticket, and the idea of going to another team motivated him to give a little more effort. But now that he's stuck behind other vets, he's back to full distracted mode. His all-star break led him to lose focus on what's important. That bad Cam/good Cam thing we see on the court must be happening in real life. It's time for Whitmore to do some soul-searching and figure things out.
Seems like the last few games his confidence has been zapped. Can't say I blame Cam when everyone seems to have the Green light but when he gets passed the ball he 2nd guesses himself cause he's been labeled a ball hog so instead, he swings and if he takes and misses his first shots he's benched. He's not going too get the same opportunity in houston sadly like Green and the other younger players.
I like Tate. I like Holiday. But it sure seems like a shame to forego development minutes for Cam and Reed to stay marginally more competitive.
Cam was awesome last year for a while. Then he became DD’s favorite. Then things went downhill from there. DD curse is fa real.
Literally every player DD likes falls apart. Seriously. I'd be mad if I was a baller and DD was rooting for me.
I'm saying that Tate and Holiday make them marginally more competitive than Cam and Reed. I'm not saying the team in general is marginally competitive.
