Cam Whitmore just announced as Summer League MVP

I think Amen is more NBA-ready, in that his feel for the game and basketball IQ appear to be much higher. He's going to make good decisions a lot more often.

I agree I'd like to see Cam in the rotation though. Just not sure where the minutes are going to come from. Wish we hadn't signed Dillon Brooks.

In my observation, it appears that Whitmore is aware that he has secured a spot on the team as he played rather passively today. As for Mobley, he seems to have also secured a spot on the team and does not need to overshadow his teammates who are still striving to make the team. While some may view this behavior as competitiveness, I think Whitmore is way more mature than Even Mobley's brother.

Not a great game for Cam, but honestly not bad either. He had a few mistakes, most notably letting his guy leak out on the fast break dunk at the beginning of the game after missing his fifth or sixth consecutive to start. Obviously, he was frustrated and lost his concentration. He did a good job staying with it though after coming back after a rest.

I think the team was just overmatched today. Still super high on Cam.

 

Cam played well, but he was not good enough and overwhelmed to win this game. I think the MVP selection got into his head today.

 

This guy just turned 19 and he has so much time to learn and grow. Still in shock he dropped to us at 20.

 

I wanted Cam at 4, so getting him at 20 was like charity. He's going to be a good one, I think he showed that, I just hope he gets and accepts the coaching that he still needs. The dude has so damn much potential.

 

Cam should play with the rest of the team under Coach Ime's guidance for a couple of months before being sent to the G-League.

If he does too much iso in those games, he should be pulled back in practice for the rest of the season, until he gains some more maturity.

I expect him to be part of the rotation off the bench, by the latter part of this season. There is no reason to dump him to another team.

Nope, just unconfirmed rumors about long-term knee concerns.

 

There must be some mistake here. I don't see Victor Webananas, Scoot Henderson, or Brandon Miller.
