My understanding is that it becomes guaranteed on the 29th. It’s already the 29th on the east coast and in Houston. I’m assuming they already had to make a decision. The way I read it is we had to make a decision before the 29th. Am I wrong?
Free agency offically starts on July 1. Landale's option has to be used on June 29th. I too doubt if he will be packaged along with Whitmore.
It's definitely the 29th over here in Europe! But I thought the rule was the Rockets had to decide ON the 29th (Spottrac says option deadline is the 29th ,which I presume means they have until the end of the 29th to exercise it). So we should hear today. To me, exercise = a deal is lined up.
that’s only when free agents can officially be signed (at 11am houston time) but june 30 (at 5pm houston time) teams can begin negotiating with any free agent
