If I'm trading with the Lakers, this is my target...

    Guys, DFS is good.

58th in Actual EPM last year. 98th percentile in D-EPM. Legit great defender. 40% on 3s. Expiring next szn. Wanted to target him when he was with BKN. Great back up at the 4. This is the type of target that goes quiet at the time of the acquisition but will surprise people, ala Steven Adams. If we can get a second rounder or two (or Adou Thiero) from them this is an absolute win for the Rockets.

Below is the impact metrics between DFS and JSJ

I don't understand this trade; you are trading Cam Whitmore for "Cam Whitmore."

ZERO reports, they were not sourced they literally were based upon SHAM and his speculation that if the Rox were looking to move, he MIGHT include cam.

    ZERO reports.

NO one wants a 32 year old, maybe Reeves - nothing else.

If we do end up trading him anywhere but the lakers, why cant I help the feeling it be like us getting Yordan from the dodgers..

I’m calling BS on the DFS rumor. But I do think our return for Cam will be less than what people hope for. I’d prefer not to send Cam to a western conference team, but if the return is really good I don’t care. Hoping this gets done today and we can move forward with our roster…which I really feel good about if Reed and Bari improve their shooting.

Guys who get hunted in the playoffs like Reaves, Jerome, Kennard are not going to be valued over defenders like DFS, NAW or Bruce by Ime

DFS is on an expiring contract for $15 mil. Why would anyone trade Cam for a 1-yr DFS rental?

Cams trade value is probably a couple of 2nd round picks right now

DFS is a legitimately good 3&D player, if he were to opt into his contract he’d easily a couple of 2nds

The only reason for DFS to opt-in is to do an opt in and trade with a guaranteed extension like CP3 did. Otherwise he’d opt out and lock up more long term money as he’s easily worth the MLE.

Why would we trade for DFS instead of asking him to opt out and sign with us… not sure. Maybe he’ll get more than the MLE. Maybe we’d just like to get a few 2nds from the Lakers for Whitmore and it happens to work out into a DFS deal. Maybe we’d like rights to Thiero who they just drafted. Idk

A trade unfortunately feels inevitable at this point.

Really don’t understand why we can’t give him a shot unless Ime and him have that bad of a relationship.

He’s the offensive spark off the bench that would be perfect for this team. I just don’t get it.

Portland has a surplus of young talent. Seems like a good trade partner.

The Stone giveth, the Stone taketh away. Cam never got the leash that others on our team had, give him the minutes off the bench and let him show the team what he can do on court.

    I don't think Cam is really 6'7.

It might be hard for Cam to show out with Luka dribbling the air out of the ball every possession and LeBron taking 20 FGAs. Lakers play a lot of meat and potatoes basketball on offense.

Best place for him would be some place like the Pels, Wizards or Nets.

he’s good but on an expiring contract. So picks better be coming back too.
