I got news for you: Unless they get a crazy offer, Rockets will not reward Cam with a trade. Doesn't work that way. If Cam thinks he can pull a Jimmy Butler and force his way to another team, he has a hard lesson ahead. He's just a second year player and isn't as important as he thinks he is.

I don't think he's a bad dude either, but I'm not sure he's all there emotionally. I get an occasional KPJ vibe. Maybe he's just moody. Time will tell. He's ridiculously young so hopefully he outgrows whatever it is.

I disagree. He's 35 years old and the reports are he wants one more big contract. He's definitely still a dog on d but that can go away quickly. He's also trashed our team before. Don't want him. Now he's desperate and all of a sudden he's interested in playing here. I don't want someone who can mess up our chemistry

He’s 20 yrs old. Part of what’s great about his game mentality is the IDGAF tude. It’s part of Stone and Ime’s job to understand how to rein him in or to move on and maximize the return. Think about how much rope we gave KPJ. Cam may need an attitude adjustment but he doesn’t have an incident history like KPJ. I say be firm but patient. Most of us don’t know how he’s behaved around the team so we have to trust Stone and Ime’s judgment on how to proceed. I don’t have much faith in Stone’s judgement on this kind of thing (Christian Wood and KPJ), but I have faith in Ime.
As much as i like Cam and think he's a future star, we're going to have to trade him if this continues. This relationship will become toxic sooner or later and it's clear he wont be getting preference over any of the starters, not with that attitude. If he only had some patience, but in his mind he prob believes he is one of the best players on the rockets. And i have to admit he is an offencive juggernaut but his defence is obviously below par and he is only second year.... difficult situation...

Jimmy Butler is currently suspended for conduct detrimental to the team, this is like the third franchise he has pulled this with and he is a 35 year old grown man. You would be trading one headache for another larger more expensive one.
I guess my general question would be what makes people think Cam is a future star? He has Harold Miner vibes (and I was someone who wanted them to draft him and not Horry). How wrong I was. Cam doesn’t have the make up of a star. Even as Kobe struggled early you could see it. Cam just isn't built like that. Maybe a Vinnie Johnson type
I said earlier in the game thread that nothing will make me give up on Cam unless reports come out that he's a dick to Rockets staffers or players. If he ever pulls a KPJ and leaves the team halfway through a game, I will be absolutely instantly DONE with Cam. So hopefully he's less KPJ and more KJ Martin in terms of attitude! I don't think the new Rockets would put up with him if he were like KPJ, though.
