How can some of y'all be so damn ungrateful! Murphy and Worrell are BY FAR the best TV announcers in professional sports. They may not be ultra-serious analysts(and boring)like Hubie Brown. They are FUN and EXCITING. Is there anything wrong with that? If you are boring person, you can always turn of the volume. Murphy and Worrell are reason enough to watch Rockets games, even if they getting blown out!

Hey, I LOVE hearing Calvin Murphy when he does Rockets games. For one thing, he criticizes the Rockets when they don't do well, and not all announcers will do that. Secondly, 'Murph and Bill Worrell are having FUN when they announce these games -- it's not a job for these guys. Third, Calvin (and Worrell) really know the game of basketball and the opponents the Rockets are playing. Anyone can be annoying to listen to at times, but when that person understands basketball like The 'Murph, then I respect that person's analysis. Before I moved to The Woodlands, I had "NBA Season Pass" on DIRECTV, and I can tell you that both Calvin and Bill are the best.

I think Bill and Calvin are fun to listen to, you can't say they are the worst in the league because that is just not true.

Personally, I think Reid Gettys is a terrific color man becuase of the passion he has for Rockets players. I hope he is Calvin's successor.

My favorite commentator is Geno, you just can't beat him. And then you have the stat machine in Foley. What makes Peterson great is that he will sometimes get on the Rockets if they play bad.

Eddie Johnson (Suns announcer) might be the worst. He always stumbles over the english language

No one even touches the Spurs announcers as far as bad goes. It's like the Ben Stein character from Ferris Bueller, but instead of saying, "Bueller . . .Bueller" over and over again its "The Admiral is better than Dream" over and over again.

The Spurs announcers are the reason the mute button was invented.

The Rockets will be the NBA champions. Believe.

I've lived all over the country and I've watched games on League Pass, NBC, TBS, TNT, whatever. And I've got to say that Bill & Calvin are the best. Everyone else is so dry, so bland, so boring compared to them. Some of you may see their hijinks as unprofessional, but I don't watch sports for their professionalism - I watch them because they're fun and Bill & Calvin add to that fun. Watching them call a game is like watching it with a couple of friends.
Also, watching Bill Walton do Clippers games is hilarious. They're bad, he knows it, and he tells it straight.

I agree that Bill and Calvin are probably the most entertaining duo in the league...and they give a lot of basketball insight too. I've always thought they deserved a job at NBC doing the Rockets national TV games(when they used to have them anyway). I don't see how anybody can dislike their commentary throughout the games, no matter what the score is.

I also like Harlan's announcing...my favorite line of his is when someone is about to go in for a monster jam and he says "buckle up" or something like that. His voice is perfect for announcing. Two guys I cannot stand listening to are Bill Walton and Bob Costas. Walton is always negative and whiny about everything, and Costas is just too boring for me...his voice never sound excited. Even though Greg Gumble doesn't do NBA anymore I used to like him until the Jazz game when Stockton hit the big 3...I think we all know what he said, so I will not repeat it.

The worst I've ever heard is Walt Frazier doing Knicks games. His voice is terrible and he only comments on things that are completely obvious anyway. He sounds like the average moron who calls into sports talk shows.
