This is tasteless rubbish. If you have a problem with the justice system - go ahead and fight for a change. The jury of his pears found him not guilty of the charges with 2 hours of deliberation. The system is not perfect but making statments like that is down right out of line in this case. Remember the law of karma - be careful of what you wish others.
ok, look at sig 90, she signed it but commented that she doesnt want Calvin back, then ummmm. WHY DID YOU SIGN IN THE FIRST PLACE.............
My best guess is that you thought I was saying, "Anyway, if he's found not guilty, I don't feel like we should treat him as though he were [not guilty] (even if he is)." But, I was actually saying, "Anyway, if he's found not guilty, I don't feel like we should treat him as though he were [guilty] (even if he is)." In retrospect, the grammatical structure of the sentence was less than ideal, though I think the "(even if he is)" should have been a solid clue as to whether I was implying "not guilty" or "guilty." Not to mention the fact that in numerous places in that same post and in subsequent posts, I made comments that would strongly suggest he should be treated as not guilty, such as the sentence immediately after the quoted sentence, "So, I'm all for bringing him back for broadcasting." Anyway, from today's Chron : I thought it was a pretty terrible argument. He mentions that we should trust the jury and the court process, I agree. He also mentions that it is unfair for him to have to carry this scarlet letter on him the rest of his life and I agree there too. But, most of the article is about how we should trust him because the parents of the children in his basketball school trust him. Wtf? Why would they know? He's nice to them and doesn't molest their children. Ok, great. But, that doesn't mean he couldn't have committed these crimes.
Juan Fair enough. That sentence left a bad taste earlier but now it is clearer. I respect your stance on the petition nonetheless. Mr Murphy's reputation will not be the same again at least for a long while but I will give him the benefit of doubt just out of respect for the system. Cheers.
If you feel he got away with it and he's guilty...then come on out and say it. Judging from every one of your posts I get the feeling that you think the jury got it all wrong. And personally I would definitely consider his relationship with these children at his school (and there not being one allegation or incident) to be a positive factor in his defense. Does it mean he couldn't have committed these crimes, no......but it's a hell of alot more telling than you give credit for.
