I like Aaron as a player. Just not at point because of his score first mentality. Maybe this is only because of Yao's absence, but it looks as if he makes too many mistakes as if he were out of place at the point. After 3 years and 25yrs. of age, he still has not found his comfort zone at point.

AB will only be the no. 1 option b/c he is the facilitator. but i trust him to know where the mismatches are. if they are fronting Yao then he spots up for a midrange jumper or hits a backdoor cutter. if they collapse on him then that frees up Yao for an open shot or single coverage shot. i know Yao is butterfingers but that's what they can work on during the off-season.

lol gota love Cal I really wish he'd come back.. boy did he get shafted by the org..

anyways, he makes great points as usual I dont disagree with anythin he said

he was dead on about Brooks and Scola and the C is a no-brainer..

we need to draft a big man with the potential to be the star replacement to fill Yaos shoes in the very near future.. we could get a player that needs about a year or to develop behind Yao and then steps in seamlessly when Yao leaves or retires

This is one draft that we should be going for a big man. If we are to contend in the near/mid future, we need to start a big and see what happens. We already know what happens when we start Hayes, to wit: a decent team that will not be a playoff team in the west.

If Morey does not land a big man on June 24, he must get one via trade, since even the organization won't be sure how Yao's condition by opening night.

    ....ding ding ding

well its come to that point now where we have to find Yaos replacement, sad but its time

the day to plan without Yao has come really fast its a bit sad for all the shoulda woulda coulda's but I look around at all the great young big men in these playoffs and think 'its time the Rox do the same thing'

I believe we can load up the 5 spot as deep and talented as our wing positions and dam we'll be scary

I like ABs scoring and shooting like most Rocket fans, but he was supposed to be developing his playmaking abilities this year. He did not do a very good job at it. Maybe its just not in him (and that is fine. we know that now). These are all professional NBA players, they can shoot and score the ball. If he was a better set up guy, he could get them more open looks. We know most of our guys this year were not good at creating their own shots, but that doesn't mean they were incapable of shooting open shots. Look back on the close games where we put the ball in his hands to make the play to win it.... How did he do in those situations? I recall turnovers and bad decisions. He is easy to double team and be taken out of the play. He cant see the next pass due to his size.

Anyway, if AB is traded for a near all-star C I would not be surprised. I think Lowry is a better assist guy. Martin, Budinger and the guy AB is traded for would make up for his shooting and scoring.

Yeah but Calvin was mainly regarded as small SG not a PG.

To go back to being a very good D team the Rockets should keep what they have and just add a veteran C that can block shots and rebound in traffic.

I would have a problem with the bolded part. Many a NBA player can score but there are really only a few who can score and shoot. Brooks belong to that elite category. Case in point, watch the Thunder. Aside from Durant and Krstic, nobody in that team can shoot worth a damn. Westbrook has zero confidence in his own shot, unless it is within 5-7 feet from the rim.

However, you are correct that Brooks + fillers could get land us a near all-star center/PF. Watching these playoffs made me appreciate what Brooks can do. Morey did a good job in showcasing the little black bean.

    lol and whats AB?

    Same thing undersized SG/small PG

Its obvious AB doesnt have the playmaking skills of a PG

Calvin was an SG 90% of the time. He was a PG only very early on in his career. Later, they figured his size didn't make him a PG.

I've said it before. Brooks is Calvin v.2.0, lightning fast, great shooter.
