no comparison between Marv Albert's and Calvin Murphy's case...which is why, even if exonnerated, I am not sure if Calvin will be back on the air...unfortunately, unless these alledged victims admit the whole thing was made up and that Calvin is innocent, he will never be on TV again imho. You can bet. You see the court room is not the court of opinion. Court room innocent decisions should not be construed as innocence in the the public eye..this is the irony...it stinks for Calvin and anyone accused of a crime....especially like this...but he is branded unless they admit to completely fabricating this for profit.....Calvin is screwed otherwise.... Also, Albert was charged with sexual assault after his luvva who had whacky sexual relations with him for years prior claimed he assaulted her during one of their escapades....2 consenting adults, during alledged legal sexual relations and one claimed foul...not to say it is right, but you get the drift....This case is about consenting adults going overboard in sexual relations and their different sexual lifestyles. Murphy is charged with a sexual crime against, not only a child, but also his own blood, alledgedly. This is a double whammy in the book of life. This case is about alledged sick, grotesque and beyond perveted evil behavior! Sexual Crimes against children, especially your own, are sinful in any religion or belief system...well a large majority....at least in Western Culture... Bottomline: Calvin is done with the Rockets unless an explosive reversal in facts comes out.....He will never be trusted otherwise....I hope that this reversal happens for him and the City....
Sorry...did not mean to imply that he did it...I sincerely hope he did not. All that I am saying is that I CAN believe it, and that its not impossible. As for his domestic abuse, lets just say that someone very close to me was in a relationship with him for some time. I probably shouldn't have said anything, because its really not my place (about their relationship) and that was a long time ago and he could have changed his ways (I hope) since then. I'll admit I was a bit harsh, but I have very little tolerance for abuse.
I am almost 90% sure that, at some point, Calvin was sentenced to do community service, and he tried to pass doing Rockets broadcasts off as community service...Does anyone remember the reason for this sentencing?

I still find this suspicious. A guy who allegedly committed oral sex on his pre-teen daughters wouldn't be out on $60k bond. It just doesn't make any sense. No DA would be that friendly.
This is unbelievable . Wow! Murphy would be the last guy I'd expect to do something like this. Of course , to me, he's innocent until proven guilty, but if he did do it, man how awful. Geez, this kind of stuff happens too much in society. Here's hoping its false, for the sake of the girls (so they didnt actually experience it) and for Calvin Murphy. Sad
Good interview, he seemed very positive and vehemently proclaimed his innocence. If you're like me, and hope against hope that these allegations are proven untrue and that this goes away quickly, Calvin said everything you'd want to hear, how you'd want to hear it. Someone is not straight on the facts, with Murph responding "I have no idea what that means" to Rosenthal's quote in the paper about "other families around the country" is a bit odd.
If Marv Albert can have his job back after being found GUILTY, then Calvin Murphy can certainly get his job back if he is found INNOCENT. I hope this is what you mean by "reversal." I'm afraid Calvin's reputation is already tarnished just by reading this thread. When Calvin retired, I was only 6 years old, so I really didn't know much about him except for his basketball and broadcasting accomplishments. Now, I know he's had multiple kids, tried to get out of community service, and might be a wife-beater. I hope he is innocent but I fear we are going to find out things we never wanted to know. Just another lesson in the humanity of our legends.
There is a big difference b/w Marv's charges and Calvin's charges. I agree that if he is found innocent he should get his job back for sure, but his reputation is definitely already tarnished. Unfortunately I don't believe he will ever be the same again.
