I kinda suspect that it's not as bad as it sounds today. Reading the Chron article, there's a lot they don't yet know and will find out. I think it likely this injury will heal and he will play again. I think it's a question of the long-term strategy, not what we'll do next season.

This whole news of Yao MAYBE being out a season is really being taken too hard. Get over it. If he's out he's out. What is different about that and the other seasons? Nothing. We went 22 without Yao Ming with less talent on our bench. So I think we're in good standing still even if rumors are true.

The team doesn't need to rebuild, it needs to tweak, and add the needed pieces to, as always, get the job done. Morey, Adelman and Les will figure it out and the need to scrap completely isn't the answer most likely. I'm really tired of this BBS and its knee jerk crap. Calm down.

I think everyone is concerned with worst case scenario. As that always causes the biggest stir.

Best case scenario flew out the window, when the bone did not heal naturally.

Now it's up to the doctors to give it a try.

I don't have much confidence in the Rockets' team doctor. Maybe this is unfair, but that's just how I feel about this guy.

I agree. Its time to start over.....We have a great GM and some decent young talent. Its time to unload the older dudes and start getting really young

Can not give up on the season and wait for contracts to end. Team must move forward and get some deals to make this season worth while to the fans. The team can get it done and now more than ever Morey's magic will be needed.

It is different, because it's threatening more than the season. It's his career.

Will we win 22 with Yao and McGrady sitting on the sides>

Here is our curent line up for '09-10, if we resign Wafer.

    C Hayes
    PF Scola
    SF Battier
    SG Wafer
    PG Brooks

    Bench
    C Dorsey
    PF Landry
    SF Budinger
    SG Taylor
    PG Lowry/Barry

Dorsey is essentialy a rookie, after a red shirt year. Our best scorers are Brooks and Wafer are scrubs compared to Kobe, Chris Paul, Brandon Roy, etc.

    Not enough firepower,
    Not enough height,
    Not enough rebounding,
    Not enough defense.

It will take them 3 months to accumulate 22 wins.

I kind of feel the same way. I have grown tired waiting for the other injury shoe to drop between Yao and Tracy. If Yao really is through, then the Rockets will have a lot of capspace to play with and presumably a lottery pick. If Yao comes back, great.

cant believe people argue that the rockets played better without yao ming and keeps bringing up the fact that the rockets took the lakers to 7 games without tracy, yao and deke. you guys are delusional.

the rockets arent that good without them. the rockets took the lakers by surprise. they played their hearts out because their backs were against the wall. AND the lakers didnt take a rockets team w/o yao and tmac seriously. not to mention, they couldnt predict how the rockets would play w/o yao and deke. the rockets took them by surprise. that was it. that's why you see those blowout games. when the lakers were able to study the rockets play w/o yao ming they blew them out on game 7.

now, you think the rockets would be able to do that for 82games? hell no. all the teams wouldve scouted us and would already know how to beat us especially if the rockets dont get a playmaker. how to beat the rockets? guard everyone except ron. let ron be a one man show == instant loss for the rockets.

should we panic? of course not. but we should definitely, truly be concerned.

Like what this thread says. Calm Down. Let things run its course and hopefully things would not look as bleak as people want it to be.

Thank you this team did do the unthinkable by taking the laker to 7 with out yao&mac. Everybody has forgot about the 6'9" dorsey the rockets still have if he comes in shows that he is ready let the season start.

I'd hate to be in Morey's or Adelman's shoes right now.
