Lakers have 4 back-to-backs in their last 15 games

They are about to play games 5 and 6 in 8 days versus the Nuggets and Bucks. Unless they sit everyone versus the Nuggets, they will likely be too worn out to beat the Bucks.

I was labeled an optimist at the beginning of the season. In the poll, I voted on 47-50 wins. Looks about right. I think we have a really good young team that should be competitors as soon as next year, but I’m also a realist about the last 7 games of the season 2 against the Lakers, OKC, Golden State, Denver, Clippers, and one easy one against Utah. Both Laker games, Golden State, Clippers are on the road and the NBA will want our opponents to succeed. Denver will be a tough out if they have anything to play for. OKC may be resting players by then.

I didn’t realize Miami was struggling so bad, but they are getting off a brutal schedule and playing at home against us. Utah and OKC are the only teams left on our schedule that have nothing to play for. I hope I’m wrong, but I think the 2nd seed is unlikely and 4th or 5th the most likely. GSW is beating everybody. Minnesota has also come alive. Lakers were winning until Lebron went down. I will be pumped if we are the 2nd seed, just so we aren’t playing a healthy GSW.

Matchups in particular will be key. I have real fear that a GS matchup will be problematic for us but I'm not necessarily as scared of Memphis who I think is overall a better team than GS.

How did you go from thinking 47-50 wins, to thinking the Rockets going 0.500 in the Real test was a win and only would happen with a Jalen Green hot streak, 7-11 during the 18 games of the Real Real Test, and only a 30% chance of the playoffs unless FVV was traded at the beginning of the January despite the Rockets being well on pace to crush the 50 wins mark until FVV got hurt?

What a bunch of nervous nellies we've got here. We are playing with house money when it comes to the playoffs. All I want is to get some experience and have some questions answered. If we make a run, all the better.

The Rox core oldest players are 23, Sengun, Jalen and Tari.

People acting like this playoffs will determine anything are kidding themselves. Some rookies enter the league at 23 yrs old. Even if they totally flop and get swept in the first round it doesnt prove anything. We need to wait 3 yrs and when they are 26 and in their prime then they fail thats the only time we can say this rebuild has failed and we need to make some changes.

Anything till then is premature, if anybody said Rox would be fighting for 2nd seed last year ok that dude has an accurate grasp of the ceiling of our guys. Otherwise nobody knows how high this group can reach till they all reach their prime.

I'm making this post since I know as soon as the Rox lose in the playoffs (no matter what round) all the Chicken Littles will come out of the woodwork and start saying BS like Ime needs to be replaced, Stone needs to get fired, Jalen needs to get traded for Booker etc

Very few seems to have any perspective lots of posters here actsl like Rox franchise will fold and close and everyone will retire next season.

Neither the Blazers nor the Grizzlies want to win. Very difficult to watch.
It should either be tied or the Blazers up 20+.

EDIT: Blazers got this. Up 17 under 4 mins. Grizzlies will drop two games behind the Rockets. Nuggets will drop one.

Rockets have sole possession of 2nd place!

Teams are creeping up. Nuggets, Fakers, Grizz and Worriors too close.

Lol, you on point with this one.

All Feb we had people crying about the Rockets 'disappointing' when again, most of us here (we got the poll receipts fellas) had us being a play-in team. Now the probabilities have us like 60% at 2-3 position and looking at the schedule that seems likely, the Rockets WAY overachieved this season.

I'd hate to get swept, especially if its blowout games, but my main hope going into the playoffs is just to have a competitive fun playoff series. I think we'll get that no matter who we play. I think we can beat Minny (7 game) and I think we can more easily handle the Clippers. That's my favorite likely matchup right now. Too old, too slow, we've handled that team pretty easily this year.

I think if we get the Warriors it would still be a close matchup just that we'll have Curry hitting big shots once again to close out games against us and I'd hate it but I'm sure the team will learn something from it.

I think we have the 2nd best young core in the NBA right now only behind OKC. I know people will say "Yeah but Shai?" yeah and what was he doing at 21-22 years old? No one had him as a potential MVP player, the Clippers traded him away lol and on Clippers forums they don't even like hearing his name to be reminded of that.

Fact is, none of these guys are in their primes right now and I honestly think Jalen Green (yall can come at me for this in the future) is a favorable whistle from being a superstar player. If he got the whistle SGA got he'd be putting up 27 a night. Hopefully a few big playoff games will get him some respect from the refs moving forward.

But some people really wanted us to trade off some of our young players just to make a mid playoff run. Now is not the time to go all in, now is the time to just enjoy the young team we have right now.
