Those last 5 games of the regular season look brutal.

Both the Warriors and Clippers won last night. But there is a bright side to that. It keeps Golden State from dropping to 7th and brings the Clippers a bit closer to overtaking Minnesota.

If the Rockets do wind up with the 2nd seed, the ideal first round opponent is the Clippers.

It is very unlikely the Rockets hang on to the 2nd seed. We have won 7 in a row against far inferior teams. We will be favored in at most 4 out of our last 13 games. I am proud that this team has outperformed the predictions, but we are not even a shoe-in to be a top 5 team, much less a 2 seed. Hope I’m wrong.

Only 4 out of the last 13?

The Rockets for sure will be favored in the following: @ORL, @MIA, DEN, ATL, @UTA, @phx, UTA, DEN

And they'll at worst be narrow underdogs at the Clippers.

You also repeatedly said that after January we would fall out of the playoffs.

Perhaps we should just let it play out before you continue to predict our demise

It would be awesome if this becomes a 2022 Boston Celtics situation and Ime takes a team everyone thinks is too young a lot further than people were expecting. I don't think we are necessarily that solid but any team that plays defense the way we do is going to be a tough out.

The Playoffs are about Matchups, Tactics and Strategy, who has the most stamina and the least injuries.

Of course the younger teams have more stamina......and a decent chance at the 2nd or 3rd round.

Yep. Hemingway has been a Professor Trelawney for most of the season. When he sees the Grim, it is actually the dog in these Rockets he's seeing.

I'm completely gruntled that I'm watching a final month of the season that actually means something other than lottery odds.

Hopefully some of those teams will be locked into their seeds and resting starters--or we will be.

They won’t be favored against Denver and probably not Miami. the rest is the 4 I predicted. Again, I hope I’m wrong, but we are barely beating very bad teams. Amen coming back is a positive. FVV is getting destroyed on defense. No way Grimes goes off like that against Amen. If we play anything like we did against Chicago or Phili we lose tonight.

This team is weird, we play down to the competition harder than any Houston team I can remember. Content to lollygag around for multiple quarters and just assume we're going to pull it out at the end. We're lucky that has worked out more often than not this season. Then we turn around and beat up good teams like Cleveland and Boston. I've given up trying to predict it at this point.

I was pretty correct that we would go on a losing streak, which we did. I did not predict that Ime would take FVV off the ball which massively improved our offense, which was my premise for us falling out of the playoffs. I’m just being less exuberant than most about a winning streak against the worst teams in the league. Amen may save the day, but I think at least Denver and Golden State pass us up. If Lebron gets back the Lakers most likely will pass us as well. I think the worst seed is now 6. I’m hoping they surprise me and are top 4, but the schedule the rest of the way is brutal.

We're not going to be favored against Miami? The same team that's lost like nine in a row? Come on man

We’re absolutely going to be favored against Miami. And we’re barely beating bad teams? In the last two weeks, we beat the Mavs by 37, the Magic by 13, and the Pelicans by 39.

I think we take the first Denver game. We are their 4th straight road game, and they will probably be tired. I read somewhere that Amen should be back by then, so if we take care at Orlando and Miami, we should be streaking until the Lakers game.

So please, team, give us a good end of season push and keep streaking until OKC, and hopefully we can have a more relaxed last few games of the regular season.
