It's fun! Obviously losing in the big picture is better for a rebuilding team, but allowing fans and the players to enjoy these types of streaks and build confidence is just as important and gives them a taste of things to come. Everything always will regress to the mean. Instead of Chet or Paolo you may run into Jabari or Patrick Baldwin .. still would be a win for the team.

We are no longer a shoe-in as top 3 worst teams and I am enjoying the improved play. Can’t wait until we can get KPJ back in the fun. I wouldn’t get carried away though. We are fixing to go on the second murderous road trip of the year. After Milwaukee we play 8 of the next 9 games on the road with the lone home game against NYK. My prediction would be 3-7, but it could be better if KPJ returns.

Rockets still have the fifth highest lottery odds despite this historic streak.

With the fifth worst record combined with flattened odds, the chances of sneaking into the top 3 picks are only 6% less than they were last year.

    That's negligible.

Cavs were the fifth worst team last year and got 3.

Raptors were the 7th worst team last year and got 4.

No need to worry about draft position in December, enjoy the season.

Imagine being the worst team of all time (Rockets were trending that way before the streak) and getting the fifth pick (lowest pick the worst team in the league can get because teams can sneak into the top 4 but no higher) . Lottery odds kill any actual need to lose games. Last year was an anomaly because we needed highest odds at a top 4 pick and we did it.

People are conveniently forgetting that the NBA put in anti-tanking measures to the draft lottery a few years back. Raptors just won the championship, slipped a little recently and ended up with Scottie Barnes. Good players fall in the draft and the worst teams don't always get the top picks.
