Just thought I'd add that the reason I put it like this -- "a misunderstanding" -- is because re-reading that original thread, and how very grateful I made my reply sound, makes it seem like maybe I was under the impression you didn't want any compensation for the tickets... but again can't remember... four years is a long time... But again, lemme know! After all, the last four years whenever I've seen one of your posts, MoBalls, I think "Hey there's that cool guy that hooked me up..." I'd hate to think that whenever you see one of my posts you say, "Hey, there's that theiving douchebag..." ...
When i was buying my PS3 from Moes i gave him 20 bucks short or something on accident made me look like i was trying to rip him off lol.
Did he ever settle up with you since you posted this or contact you? I noticed he posted on the Astros/Brewers thread at 3 a.m.
Hey man.............I wasnt gonna call you out. But Im glad you manned up and rememembered. You sounded like a cool fellow and I remember thinking that you were in college at the time so you must have forgotten. We actually spoke and I emailed my address to you to send payment. I did think "I wonder if this kid forgot about me?" Donating it to the Tip Jar is an awesome idea. Im gonna look for the old email and resend it to you. Its no biggie man. Youre a good man for stepping up.
I thought that was your "little brother" I remember counting the money in the HEB parking lot and kept going "uh, maybe i'm not adding this right"
WTF? So the a-hole who was the impetus for this thread, johnmvp, hasn't posted here at all in quite awhile. And he's still never contacted me again about my stuff. However, his last post is this: ...from this thread. The 360 he sold me was supposedly his personal one, that he was only selling so he could buy a PS3. Then he comes on the BBS and posts about his 360? The nerve of this guy...
Yeah, even though he screwed you over. I don't see how a thread bump from 5 months ago is going to get him to come out of hiatus or change the boards opinion of not buying anything from him.
i still feel bad for him he got jacked out of 420 dollars which unless he is rolling in the dough is a lot of money for anyone. i think more importantly its a trust type factor i know most of us here feel some sort of level of trust/friendship with most of the other posters here and the board has built up a great rep from the numerous quality posters and contributors here. what johnmvp tarnishes that, i figure johnmvp to be a kid of sorts but its still messed up anyway you look at it. Karma will come and bit him in the ass sooner or later
This is why I am very cautious about buying anything from individuals without at least getting to see it and try it out first.
well, johnmvp has was/is still a rookie. he joined March 08 and barely 200 posts to this day. that should have been a red light to anyone buying from him. he doesn't quite have a rep yet. never trust anyone who Just joined the board let alone those who've been here since the beginning.
Both solid posts. It's horrible you got screwed, Drexlerfan, but Macalu makes a great point: I'd never buy anything from someone on this board who didn't already have some kind of reputation here.
Yoyo you are so right.. I would expect this from ebay (although it has never happened to me personally) but not from Clutchbbs members.. that freaking sucks dude.. I wouldn't be surprised if he joined using another alias because of this stunt..
People like this make the world a worst place. I have had a couple of transaction on here and they have all been wonderful. I still own ShadyPink a couple of drinks when I get a chance to visit Houston. She picked up a Rockets foam finger for me from the Toyota Center and shipped it out to me. Two days after I paid, she refunded the money back to my paypal. That is an example of what Clutchfans truly is, so hopefully the newcomers don't feel like the board has a bad reputation. ShadyPink is someone I have never met online and she went through all that brought to pick it up and ship it to LA for me, and didn't even accept the money for it. On top of that, I have meet several Clutchfans at Clipper/Laker games and have even gone to Yoyo's house to catch Rockets games. (Win 22 v. Lakers was a great day!) So it sucks that one member of the community would do something like this to another.
Fixed. Sorry for all the mistakes people. Just got back from a law firm reception, my head is pounding, and I need sleep. Talking to a bunch of stuck-up lawyers can give you a headache rather quickly.
