I see what you're saying, but all I have to say is this: Tune in to ESPN right now. Observe Golden State's crowd. These fans are supporting an 8th seeded team with no all-stars and a team that hasnt made the playoffs in 12 years. We have two starters on the all-star team, we're the 4th best team in the league, and we have two recent championships and we can't get a better crowd? I want a better home atmosphere. That is all.
if you really want to help the Rox.... might I suggest someone mess with the lighting... for about 15 minutes when its the start... of the 4th quarter, game 7, NBA Finals....
Check out the GS vs. DAL game on ESPN right now... that is LOUD! (halftime, but when it comes back... place is rockin'!)
b**** moan...b**** moan... Anybody who has lived in Houston for awhile knows what's up about the general public and the Rockets, b****ing about it is like b****ing about the humidity. Hell, we needed a second referendum to keep them here, IIRC. I'd like a hot brazilian gf with skillz that would put a hoover vacuum to shame. That is all.
This crowd is unreal. They have totally unraveled the Mavs and the Warriors are just feeding off of it. Golden State is for real.
ill do this just for you, ill get in touch with my TNT hookup, get a mic right next to the rowdies and have the Rowdies sing to you "Are you happy now?" good enough?
No kidding. These "you guys aren't doing your part" threads get so old. Buy tickets, go to the game... but hearing that song here from countless people who DON'T go to the game gets very old... especially to those of us that do cheer... which as someone pointed out, is probably any of the clutchfans you're addressing that actually go. It's not like there will be a problem it being loud... believe me. games 1 and 2 WERE incredibly loud, though being AT the games, I can't compare how the broadcasts were mic'd in Htown vs. Utah. What I can say is, the win doesn't go to the loudest crowd... and the Rockets arena is ROCKING in this series... so anytime but now I might hear this same old song, but right now it's just tired. I agree, we should be loud, but calling us out? Pffft. please. Next someone will say they want us to lose one at home to prove your point.
Yeah, this is about the silliest thread I've seen all month. I was at both games 1 and 2. It was loud. We were loud. I was loud. I spent 5 days at work (call center) basically whispering to people over the phone because of game 1/2. My voice just started getting better this evening. Just because the arena doesn't come across as "loud enough" for you, doesn't mean that at the arena itself it wasn't blaring.
Some of you guys are being too defensive. I know that it was loud. I was impressed, but I still want to see better. Jazz fans delivered and we're up next. Come with even more energy for game 5. It's not even really about how loud it is. It's more of the atmosphere created by the fans. If the whole place is in red and standing up and following every play closely, it helps the players focus and it gets in the other teams head. Perfect example tonight in the Dallas GS game... Warriors fans were in the game from start to finish standing and applauding almost every play. I just wish it were more like that at TC. Rowdies are great. I'm not calling them out at all. Just wish fans would be in the game on every play from start to finish. Our fans tend to arrive late and leave early...
How are you going to critique the crowd when you went to neither game? I understand that you can't attend them, but I went to Game 2 and it was pretty damn loud. Can't compare ourselves to the GS crowd since the last time they went to a Warriors playoff game was when Spreewell didn't decide to choke a b!tch yet.
You're not getting it. You don't have any room to complain. Your complaint is like a nerd walking into a trendy night club with lots of eye candy and you wondering aloud why those chicks can't be hotter, "the ambience could be better". Actually that nerd went to the night club, so he's one up on you. As I told one fugly girl in high school who was pontificating her ideal man, "I don't think you're in any position to be choosy..."
Agreed - I was there at both game #1 and #2- never heard the arena so loud. Made me proud for Rocket's fans
People watching on TV and b****ing about the crowds suck. Anyone that's been in the building (yes, I have for both games + a third of the reg season + the last 13 years) knows that this is louder than it's ever been since the TC opened. Compared to the regular season its a 500% improvement. Even the corporate suits have mostly gotten involved. The place is 80% red, standing often, and yelling from end to end. And that's despite some less than exciting play from the Rockets, especially in the first half. All the "I know some of you are rowdy" and "I want a better home atmosphere" comments are insulting to those of us that STILL have sore throats from Sat and Mon. That place isn't going to get much louder, I promise you. Instead of whining everytime you see someone else on TV, try being proud of a major accomplishment by the Rockets fans. The game-goers are doing their part. You aren't going to see anyone on the team gripe to the media about our crowd needing to step up and make a difference. Contact anyone at the Rockets (Brian, etc) and ask them what they think. I promise you they're ecstatic over these crowds. So yeah, when someone that doesn't go to games start griping because we don't have the loudest arena in the playoffs and that sucks.....it annoys the crap out of the rest of us. Utah's been the loudest venue in the league for years, and half of that IS the arena accoustics - they have steep seats that pulls everyone close to the floor. The other half is Salt Lake has no other sport in town. The Jazz are everything to everyone there. If you honestly believe "If the whole place is in red and standing up and following every play closely, it helps the players focus", then you're pretty naive. A good crowd gets the players' juices flowing, but a standing crowd doesn't make the players focus. WTF. They're standing! I can execute my plays so much better now! It's an emotional boost, but that's all it is. We did our part. When we lose a game at home because it was too quiet, you let me know. Evan
Everyone should boo the Jazzholes on every possession during Game 5. Utah Sucks chants would be nice as well.
Good thread Here's something to get ideas from (yes it is a basketball game) <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/u0rMe2Vyb9E"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/u0rMe2Vyb9E" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
This series is not over. I don't understand some of you fans. If we come out in full force Monday night and support the Rockets, we will give them a better chance to win game 5 and hopfully we can get the momentum back on our side. It's been ugly, but it can turn around in a hurry. We just have to be the aggressors. It looks like the Jazz want it more right now and maybe a good crwod could light a fire under Tmac.
