lol I feel bad for anyone who stayed in line last night. I slept in and walked into my local Target and picked up a copy like nothing. Anyways, campaign mode is legit Finally a decent COD. Sorry but anything made by Treyarch is garbage IMO (except cod3)
I'm not a big fan of Treyarch's (World at war was garbage), but I did end up giving Black Ops a chance. You're telling me you think COD3 (a game that was universally panned as crap) is good, and Black Ops (a game that was universally praised as Treyarch's first real triumph) sucks?
I thought infinity ward was done with? Whats up with that. I mean I'm glad its back but I wasnt expecting it. Regardless I like the new game so far. I like the feel of it.
my brother stayed in line for the release time. but he was also lucky enough to have tuesday off so he got to play it all night.
The founders of infinity ward left and took arguably all their best people with them. They formed respawn entertainment and are now working on an unannounced game for EA. Zombie infinity ward (the remnants of) along with sledgehammer and I think raven(?) were all tasked to work on mw3. Additionally treyarch and neversoft along with others can be found in the credits for mw3. A billion people worked on this game.
Idk, I guess I'm just weird like that. You know what really irks me about Treyarch and I think any PS3 user can agree here.. Why do Treyarch games have bad frames per second rate on the PS3? MW3 is sooo smooth as it should be.
Never played any of the Call of Duty games. Thinking about giving this a try? How's the campaign mode? I hear this is good online multiplayer. Also how is the learning curve with this? I wouldn't want to get online and be completely dominated by all my friends.
I think the weapon upgrading and unlocking system makes multiplayer a lot better rather than the money system. So far the maps are close quarters and constant action. I like the new perks and killstreak options as well. Overall a fun game and about what I expected.
Does anyone know how the prestige shop works? Say I buy Double XP...will it last every single time I prestige or just once?
Better question: Why bother to fix the issues with the bad frame rate? I think part of it is that IW (pre-exodus) handled most of the tech, but they didn't really share it well with Treyarch. IIRC, Black Ops relied on most of the tech that was done with MW1 (and not the recently released MW2).
Get COD4 or MW2 if you're just playing for campaign. This one is much shorter (very awesome so far though). Frankly you will get dominated online, if you've played a lot of FPS you'll pick it up fairly quickly. It's relatively easy to kill people, so it's probably a bit more new-player-friendly than something like Halo. There are a lot of other awesome modes for it though that make it worth buying. Spec ops (co op or single player) and Survival mode are perfect for getting a feel for the game.
I couldn't say honestly. I've ran into some frame rate issues on MW3, but I'm playing on xbox. Can't speak on ps3. For the most part the game is smooth to me.
Completely different games, I don't think you can even really compare them. They're both set in modern combat scenarios, but other than that... Battlefield: Vehicles More methodical More realistic Limited environmental destructibility Bigger maps; 24 players per (I think that's correct) Better graphics (not substantially on consoles, but noticeable) 30 frames per second COD: Infantry Faster paced (more action oriented) Arcade-ish realism Kill streak rewards Smaller maps (18 players?) 60 frames per second
Like others have said, they are different games, but in my opinion, my copy of MW3 is probably going to be wasted. If it didn't automatically attach itself to Steam when I installed it, I would try to sell it. I don't have an extensive gaming history, but I played most of the CS variants, MW1, MW2, Black Ops, BFBC2, and not MW3 and BF3. I personally prefer BF3 over MW3 even with all of the current bugginess of it. I remember playing MW SP and saying damn that was the best game I have ever played. Then MW2 SP was (again, to me) just as good. I did play MP as well and the experience was fun. Then I played BFBC2 with friends and completely forgot about MW. My major complaints about MW3 are what most other people are saying. Graphics are the same and feel outdated, audio effects are really lacking, guns don't feel like they have any recoil, and the I am won't lie there is SOME fun in the just spawn go kill them game, but it does feel like I am playing Quake or just any other team deathmatch type shooter. I think BF3 (and BFBC2) really shine when you play with friends. When you work together to take a point or blow up the comm station. When we play, we try to watch each other backs, call out contacts, and in general just work together to accomplish the mission.
Does anyone else feel like all of the maps are kind of bland on multiplayer? I feel like the strongest suits of the first 2 MW games were that they had a lot of great, unique maps. So far all of the maps on multiplayer just seem too small and encourage lots and lots of spawn-killing. After a full day of playing, I'm really disappointed so far.
Asian? Engrish in full effect. hahahah Krayze and I are brothers so that people don't think I'm just an ass, which is a fair assessment, and I agree on all of these points. I enjoyed MW1 and MW2 a TON. I really did, I had no gripes about either game, unlike a lot of players that hated on at least MW2. But as frustrating as BF3 gets at times, in my humble opinion, it's just tons better than MW3. I believe that Activision/IW/Treyarch made their shooters to be easy to pick up and play, hence the low recoil/kick and run and gun em style...BUT this latest release really is just a map pack with some gameplay tweaks. Hardly worth a full release price. They still made a crapton of money just like they did with Black Ops which I thought was horrible. I just hope they create a new game for the next Modern Warfare. Otherwise, I'll make the switch to the BF series for good instead of enjoying both.
