Ahhh counter-strike, those were the good ole days. Haven't played in years, is the online following still the same these days?
been playing counterstrike since 1.1 what a great game, such a great game 5 digit won ID 4 digit steam ID
Nah not at all. There are still a good number of populated public servers but it's dropped off drastically in the past couple years. There are still some really big tournaments in Europe though I think it's still pretty popular over there, plus esea is still chugging along. Always good to see I'm not the only one still fond of the old days. My steamid is 6 digit, can't remember my wonid at all though lol. I know the cod games are real popular nowadays but they just don't require the same level of skill, and I'm just not a fan of achievement systems and unlockables in online first person shooters.
You are going to be better off pre-ordering from Wal-Mart/Amazon and receiving a $20 gift certificate they usually give out.
Or better yet, save the money and spend $10 on Mount & Blade. Or Amnesia. Or Deus Ex. Or some game that is actually good. (yes, I'm in full-on troll mode when it comes to CoD).
Obviously you have your preferences, but I don't understand how you can say the game is not good. It's the only game that I have consistently played every new game for four or five years now. You can say it is not deep enough, or lacks features, or glitchy, or whatever, but they are doing something right. I know I'm just feeding the trolls.
COD isnt for everyone. I've been playing the arcade game Battlefield 1943 more then COD. IMO GRAW topped COD in everything.
Yeah, four was new. The loadouts and perks were awesome. It was groundbreaking. Every game since, with the exception of WaW, has just been improving on the formula. They are probably better games in every respect than 4 was, but lack the originality becuase they are building on 4s formula.
McDonald's comparison might be good. If all you eat is McDonald's, then you might think it is pretty good. But if you eat at other places, you'll realize McDonald's isn't all that great. Except in this case, imagine McDonald's is charging $10 for a Big Mac, and fries cost extra. I have some added incentive to downplay CoD thanks to Activision's involvement, so I admit I exaggerate from time to time. But in all seriousness, CoD is fairly average IMO (I've gone into my complaints before). There are a lot of games I'd classify as good, and CoD isn't quite as good as them IMO (got to draw the line somewhere). I don't think that's necessarily a good thing. Most franchises wait 2-4 years between releases for a reason. Definitely have a great marketing department. They've shown they could basically get rid of the developers who created CoD and just hand it to some other random studio, and fans will still be excited to play it. That's not easy, but they've done it somehow.
Here it is...probably won't stay up long: <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kYm0RnYNNEA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

looks pretty much the same as the previous titles. Seems like they are exhausting all the gimmicks, WW3 now? I might get it though lol
