Alright, I'm buying into the hype and I'm going to pick this up tomorrow. Any stores running deals or is it pretty much $60 everywhere?
So far I don't get online experience. It just seems like running around just to be picked off by people who play online all the time and know some sweet ambush spots on the maps. Maybe I just suck but so far I enjoyed the campaign and so far the Spec Ops much more than running around in some death match. Explain what I'm missing.
Pretty fun and entertaining game that took me 11 hours to beat it on veteran. Tried to play veteran on special ops and quickly decided that it's the god damn devil. Honestly I get to the last wave and for some reason I always mess up.
Camping is a big part of call of duty which is why I play objective games such as capture the flag, domination, sabotage, demolition is pretty fun pretty easy to rack up kills while on the defensive side.
Me and a buddy were doing the sniper wave Spec Ops mission on veteran. We were on the last wave, and I said "oh this is actually pretty easy." I was immediately hit in the chest with a grenade and blown to pieces by 3 Aks. Ha.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here..... Cod4 without the previous two updates was the best FPS available. Even now, Cod4 is still better than this game. However, I love this game. It is taking some getting used to, but I finally have my KDR up to about 1.7. I still need to learn a few things, but I'm liking the change of pace!
Sorry I don't agree. I think MW2 took all the things great about 4 and perfected it. My one gripe is that I HATE the maps though. Other than that however i think MW2 is the best console fps I've played.
I second this. The maps in MW1 are better designed. I think that's why I'm not too fond of multiplayer in MW2. I haven't tried spec ops yet. I'm three hours in campaign mode and it's starting to get repetitive. The tank and no russian levels were pretty awesome...but after that it's been running, crouch, shoot a couple of guys, rinse and repeat.
I know it's just ridiculous. I've tried and tried to beat the special ops mission where you fight your way through farvelas and I cant beat it. I end up getting so close and being f*** over by those damn dogs. I want to punch a German Shepperd in the face right now. And I refuse to do it on 2 stars.
Ha, I like that one. I don't own the game yet so I only played it for about an hour with my friend. But he beat all of Alpha and Beta later that night.
Yeah I'm going to a friends house tomorrow to beat those damn levels cause I cant do some of them by myself. I kinda just want to get the achievement points. Beating it on Veteran and getting all of the single player achievements besides collecting the Intel evidence got me about 640 points.
MWF2 is great, no doubt, but it does have flaws. Kills are ridiculously fast. Killstreaks get out of hand sometimes (2 harriers and a helicopter at the same time? AC-130 is just crazy..) and make you lost asap. Guns are overpowered. The spawn points are really confusing on TDM. The maps are wayyy too damn big. I literally can't figure out where the other team is half the time. People camp like crazy on this game. I don't know why they made sooo many damn hiding spots. It's ludicrous, really. Some guns have no recoil? Call of Duty 4 before they made the pistols/g3 worthless and slowed the game down was hands on the best console FPS ever.
pistols and g3s are incredibly popular in COD4. You must not play hardcore. I only played 1 match online and my biggest complain was that the maps were too big.
I used to play hardcore, but it's not challenging at all. Too many games with less than 3 deaths. Anyways, the G3 and pistols turned to crap after that last update, and that really messed up normal TDM. The maps on MW2 are really something else... I will gripe some more about them tomorrow...
I disagree, hardcore takes significantly more skill. It is much more difficult to survive and it is a more realistic atmosphere. You can put a whole clip into someone's chest in a regular match and they may not die. I just can't stand it.
Key question: Can you do 3 or 4-person multiplayer? This will decide whether I buy the game or not. I have some buddies coming over this weekend who are Jonesing for some 3 and 4-person split-screen multiplayer action (a la Halo 2.) If Modern Warfare 2 can accomodate, we'll do that. If not i'll get something else. (incidentally, if MW2 can't go 3 or 4-person split-screen, do you have any recommendations for PS3 for games that do?) Thanks in advance.
