Haha, I know it sounds crazy. But of course, Cato has the "worse hands" haha...and all his double doubles were in blow-out situations. You have to be pretty insanse if you plan on giving Travis Knight 25 MPG over Cato, because Ming definitely can't handle playing a lot of minutes for all 82 games his rookie year. I mean could you imagine Jason Collier starting? Well Travis Knight is worse than Collier...

Ooh "TOE ZEE"...Your comic prowess is really showing there

We are gaining a center. Cato was backed up by committee, the minutes were shared between Collier, Griffin, and sometimes KT, why would that change?

Don't get me wrong, I think Cato has the potiental to be a difference maker but I think we all are a little tired of waiting.

    In re my comic prowess...

If I wanted to display my skills, believe me, you would know it.

Spreewell is not the type of person that RT & CD try to have on the Rox! His character has something lacking, to say the least! He would not even fit in basketball wise!

Well, if you consider Travis Knight "gaining a center"...I don't know what to say. Why don't we bring Yinka Dare out from wherever the hell he is...

I think Cato was doing fine in his improvement but since the team sucked so bad it took away from it. You'll see next season once we're actually winning he might get some recognition.

Who knows maybe Cat is a STAT w**** and Francis maybe as well. Maybe we will be arguing they are players for years because their stats say so but they will never be good enough to dominate if just get to the playoffs.I think Spree has heart and plays defense and is past the choking incident, so maybe evryone else should get past it as well.Dream was a trouble maker once but everyone tends to forgive a guy when he helps you win.

Will everyone here have faith in Cat if he puts up his worst season ever? Will Steve?

I think Cat and Steve want to win don't get me wrong, but I think Spree is a proven player. If Steve wants an impact player, maybe he should be willing to do what is best for the team and not himself.I think Spree could have a positive impact on Steve.

I like Cat, but Spree can play D, his heart is unquestionable,he can create just as well as Cat, and he will intimidate alot of players into sucking. Not to mention he can choke RT into adding movement into our system.

Sure I want to keep Cat and I would be willing to play Spree at the 3.But I also believe a presence like Spree could help this team.TOO BAD IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE NOT ONLY IS STEVE OUR GM but HE WOULD HAVE A LOT MORE HEADACHES WITHOUT CAT THERE TO MASSAGE HIS HEAD AS WELL AS HIS EGO!ouch.....

Steve can hoop though, and Cat's his bud so everyone suck!suck!

I hope they can be team players since they've never "played with someone like that before".ouch

Sure whatever keep Cat and Steve and forget Spree, I just hope these guys will show more maturity in this next season. If they don't you think this was a rip, well just get ready.

I love the rockets but I am not afraid to criticize because I want them to be the best and whatever that takes I'm willing to go along with.If we can let our Greatest player ever walk for the sake of the team then Cat, Steve and everyone else should be fair game for trade proposals as well as criticism.

Latrell Spreewell is an awesome player and is one of the best open court players in the game. We would double our fast break points just by adding him to our team. However, he would completely mess up our chemistry on offense and is a player who needs the ball to be productive. We've got 6 or 7 guys allready who can score. What we need at sf is someone to complement what we allready have. That would probably be a shooter who also plays good D and can run the floor. Sounds more like Glen Rice or Nachbar than Spree right now.

    Dream never choked his coach...

Steve went to the allstar game as a PG but he is selfish??? If he had anybody besides Cat to pass to he would average 10 assists per game. Would he still be selfish?

    Lets look at this logically...
Spree shoots as much as Steve or Cat but can barely hit 40% of his shots compared to Steve and Cat at around a 45 % pace. How many balls are there out on the court.

So you would trade your 2 best players in their prime..for what?

    Dream was traded because:

    1. he wanted a big payday which he KNEW he would not earn...ask Toronto
    2. he should have retired before last year as a ROCKET but his pride would not let him.

I respect your opinion but try to make some sense next time...:)

Its not that far fetched A.B. its just a matter of what the Knicks will take back. If we could cough up Taylor and Cato and a lott protected for a player like spree with a shorter contract i would do it. If that were to happen , then the rockets should just eat Rice contract and waive him and let nachbar and morris play behind spree. Also spree could slide over and backup Mobley while allowing nachbar to come in at the 3. I would do it, but i don't know if the knicks would do it.

Didn't Dream beat the hell out of a 7-11 clerk? AM I DELUSIONAL?
And don't give me any of this he wasn't convicted crap,he's an athlete.

Another thing Steve in the all star game was a joke.He hardly played all season.People will probably always vote him in on profile alone.

So their aren't enough balls on the court, there would be if Cat didn't jack it up so much.

Suck, suck is what people do when they refuse to believe that their star players do have some misgivings.Perhaps their misgivings are of the nature that will never change.I hope they aren't selfish players, but I feel they are alot of times. This last season I saw both of them refuse to get others involved. If they don't trust in their teammates then that sucks, if they do then why were they neglecting their teammates on enough occasions many people besides myself noticed it as well?

So what happens when Cat and Francis pride gets in the way of our team or Steve signs a contract without a guarantee he is healthy.Would that not hurt this team as well again this year?

I try not to be a dumbass but instead to be objective, the whole reason to post on the bbs in the first place is to be objective.

THE PROBLEM IS SOME PEOPLE HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IF THEY SAY SOMETHING OTHERS WILL NOT AGREE WITH THEY WILL BE DECLARED A DUMBASS.....WELL THOSE PEOPLE CAN KISS OUR DUMBASSES ANOTHER BROTHER.

HEY DENNIS 2112 thanks for respecting my opinion, I understand you may not agree but we will always agree that the ROCKETS RULE!!

Cat puts up the same number of shots as Spree or Houston. Spree shoots at a much lower success rate than Cat , Steve, or even his teamate Houston.

Well Cat averaged just over 18 shots per game( 18.4 spg 44 FG%).
Compare him to some other SG who are #1 or #2 options on their teams.

    A. Houston - 16.9 spg 44 fg%
    L. Sprewell - 17.5 spg 40 fg%
    K Bryant - 20.0 spg 47 fg%
    M Finley - 17.8 spg 46 fg%
    R Mercer - 17.9 spg 39 fg%

Cat matches up to those guys quite favorably and he will only get better.

What we need is a SF/SG who can play "D" and be a role player. At Spree's pricetag and his need to be "the man" just doesn't fit our team.

That, we can definitely agree on!!!

Why would the Knicks want Mo T they just picked up A Dyess.

Cato might be an all-star in the east, you never know

but I dont see the knicks parting with Spree for less than Cat

Why would you send Rice BACK to New York? Do you hate the guy that much. He was very happy to be in Houston and out of the Knicks org. Why trade our best PF and C as well. In fact, you are an idiot. We'd be on of the smallest teams in the NBA.

    I mean this playfully:

    There's a reason that you're a comedic musician.

My brain: Why'd you have to say that. He seems like a pretty nice guy.

Me: But it was an easy shot.

My brain: Ya got a point, but you're still a....

    1.Dennis2112 handled that
2.Maybe if they had decent players surrounding them, they'd give it up. How many times do I remember Steve actually penetrating and dishing out to Langhi, Morris, etc. to see brick, brick , and more bricks. Why would Cat give up the ball when he has a better chance to score than anyone else on the team. He's not that selfish, he just wants to do whatever it takes to win. That's pretty hard to do when you got different line-ups every game, and they all suck. Let's see how much you complain about him this year when the team is killing it.
3.That is such a huge assumption. You're predicting Steve & Cat will be too proud...wah wah...Like they're really going to resign him without making sure he's healthy? He's scheduled to go to Mayo and have rehab so don't bring that up.
4.Agree, but you sometimes don't sound like you think so
