If being liberal means living along the stretch of beach in Laguna and surfing perfect waves every day with perfect weather with a high of 75, or being able to wake up and look at Lake Tahoe every morning and ski for half the year on perfect slopes vs living in freaking Dallas where it’s flat, hot, and the only thing natural within 100 miles is the nasty a&$ trinity river and that makes me a liberal then tell me where I can donate my next paycheck to become enough of a democrat to live in Cali. Look I love Texas and there are some truly amazing places to live and play here too… but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. There is comparison in terms of natural beauty, weather, and amenities that Cali has vs Texas. Yes it’s more expensive because the demand is higher. If you are a surfer, go surf our best wave in Texas (maybe Boca Chica) and then go surf Trestles in so cal. If you are a wine person go to Fredericksberg then go to Napa or outside Santa Barbara. If you like mountains go hike Big Bend then go hike the Sierra. No knock on what we have here but it’s not even close. It has nothing to do with liberalism. California was Republican for long stretches and Texas was a Dixiecrat Democrat state for a long time. Texas is only Republican now because the right was lucky enough to win 3 governorships in a row which allowed the GOP to stack the state Supreme Court to constantly rule in favor of the GOP which led to gerrymandering the hell out of the state. Otherwise demographic wise it’s a very similar state to California given its size and proximity to Mexico and influence that provides. The main difference is small towns. Small towns in Cali also tend to be very MAGA but there are much less of them because of the terrain it’s harder to develop small town infrastructure which is very easy to do in Texas. Therefore we have many many more small towns with small town mindsets and a ton of voting power that skews Texas red. It’s not that difficult to analyze.
your willful ignorance manifests itself. Calif is about to host the Olympic Games for the 5th time the 2028 games will be the 3rd Summer games for the golden state. and how many times have your state been selected to host the Olympics ?
California has been blessed with amazing weather and amazing physical scenery. Neither of these things were the result of political decisions. But imagine how awful a set of political policies must be to squander the weather/scenery gifts that the state has. Texas is growing rapidly despite tough weather and not a lot of physical beauty (outside of say the hill country and Big Bend). If California doesn't change course, they'll lose most of what they have as the "producers" of the state (high income earners, entrepreneurs, innovators) decide to leave. Who wants to give 13% of their paycheck to the state, while sitting in endless traffic in LA, stepping over homeless people in downtowns, flooding the state with illegals who they have no idea who they are, dropping the ball on fire prevention year after year, and drowning in red tape to run a business? Something needs to change out there or things could get ugly for them. Amazing how they've squandered their gifts. GOOD DAY
I appreciate the response. California isn't for me unless I'm visiting. I tore my knee up so my balance on a board isn't great As I've mentioned, California just isn't my thing. I have friends there in Orange County and a friend in SD. I apologize if I was an ******* to you. You're good people
Obviously the massive economy and very diverse economy is the flex. Most in manufacturing jobs and second in exports. Massive agricultural producer. No other state is actually producing companies like Oracle, Tesla, Google. They may move their headquarters out of California but the knowledge base stays.
And Texas is blessed with oil and natural gas which you constantly brag about California has a great state university system so their tax dollars are put to good use
Is it actually weird that people are hating on a place that is clearly better than where they live? I don't think so, it's pretty textbook hater behavior.
So does California! But their state's production isn't what it should be due to environmental regulations. Again, liberal policies squandering natural gifts. GOOD DAY
