What about: Cade is a taller, slower Allen Iverson but with a better shot. Or: Cade is a smaller, quicker Phoenix-era Shaq but with Detroit-era Grant Hill skill set.
He is projected from 6 to 10. His defense is much better than Henson's. That's his calling card. Barnes will hound you all night long. He can push the ball, but will he be able to do that consistently against much faster and better defenders , I don't know. He can't shoot, nor is he a scorer. If he wasn't 6'9", he wouldn't be considered as a lottery pick in my opinion. I will be happy If we can package the 18th and the 23rd to the 10th and grab Johnson if he slides there. We need to swing for the fences.
I like Johnson from Duke if that's who you're talking about. Hopefully they get a top 4 pick and then can trade up and get a guy like Johnson.
Wasserman has a little article on Barnes I agree on. Speaks of four other prospects. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2943527-2021-nba-draft-prospects-scouts-cant-figure-out John Henson in college was equal to Barnes now, not sure worth taking at 10. I did mock simulator and the computer had him going at 12 to Spurs.
His game is very similar to Simmons. The defense is legit and playmaking optimal. But there is no way you will be the primary initiator on any offense with a jumper that bad. He will have to be relegated to playing the short roll or dunkers spot like Simmons and draymond.
Sorry this is what I see when I see Scottie Barnes I wouldn't trade up to get him, fine with picking him up at pick 24
Yes. I don't think they have star potential. Giddey is smart, but his foot speed is probably equal to Bogut 's at best. He will probably concede 30 points a night. Butler would be a solid player at the 18th. That's okay with me, but I hope someone will slide who is worth taking a swing at. Ziarie Williams will be my choice if he adds some muscle and is able to knock down his jumper at the combine.
Bill Simmons is such a b****. He just cannot hide his hate for Houston. Want to draft Cade even more now.
The one thing Grant Hill was that Cade isn't is a very explosive athlete .... before all the injuries took their toll. Cade is nowhere close to that type of explosiveness .... He gets to his spots but not so much on athleticism. Kinda like Harden finding angles .... He's not the fastest or most explosive either but he gets to the rim when he wants.
Agreed, but cade is also a much better shooter then grant hill was. Luka is a savant a once in a generational talent and vision, so its very hard to compare for someone to be able to translate like he is, but cade has similar tools. He has a great reliable shot, can create off the dribble, off balance, he has great court vision size/strength and skill. There are levels to this thing, but he is exciting and was effective and the nba court is much more open then the Zone laden ncaa. If you are a top prospect like Cade, makes more sense to get 500k-1 million, have college paid for, and train with actual pros if you are at that elite level. Makes green exciting as well as the other gleague prospects.
Simmons gets the dirt from Morey. He knows what a clown show organization the Rockets are. Of course we want Cade. But this team is objectively a bad spot for a budding star.
And Cleveland And Detroit And the knicks until just this year And Memphis until this year And Chicago And Sacramento And Phoenix And Orlando You get the point
