Honestly after looking at the vids.....I mean, Green just looks like the best player available out of him Kuminga and Mobely. Im not saying anything definitive about whos gonna be better but Green just looks like the best value. He can get buckets off ball, he's fast, explosive and can run some pick and roll. If we dont get the number 1, he would be an excellent fit next to Porter Jr.
I love the potential of Kuminga. I think he's a guy who could develop into a Kawhi Leonard type given the tools he has been blessed with. I see him as a better prospect than Deandre Hunter or Patrick Williams, 2 guys drafted 4th overall with similar physical profiles. I think he'd give the Rockets a physical mismatch every night at the 3 or the 4 and he'd fit perfect with the talent already on the roster. But if the opportunity is there to select Cade, he's the pick. 100%
If we're trying to build a team, we need more than one big. Mobley would compliment Wood and give us flexibility against bigger lineups and a back-up plan if Wood gets injured again. Like others I like Cade and his all around skills, but if he's not available I'd have a hard time not going for another modern big man in Mobley.
Jonathan Kuminga is not a top 4 pick. It's Cade Cunningham, the two Jalens, and Mobley. I'd be fine with any of those 4.
I get it but if you look at all the past drives the big man usually ends up being the bust. If we think the other guys are just as good, I think we have to pick them. Ayton hasn't been good. Bamba, Jarred Jackson Jr, Wendall Carter Jr. etc..
The only thing scarier than running into a Kuruken or a Porugen is the befitting and unsettling specter of Oklahoma City picking fifth.
can we not have these threads until we have the pick? i dont want to get hyped for us to get the 5th pick in the draft...
That's a good point, but my counter is that bigs can take longer to develop and you can point to an equal amount of G/F that have panned out as projected. Ayton has actually made some progress this year and some of the others are on teams that aren't really giving them the PT they need to develop. The beauty of the Rox going into the draft is that we're a semi blank canvas and BPA is a strategy we can deploy without worrying much about PT.
Ayton has been very average this year and he gets benched in crunch time for Saric... If the Suns woulda just drafted Luka they might be favorites to win it all. If we had our guards and forward rotation in place I'd be fine taking the center but we have too many needs to bust in the draft.
Luka not going #1 is another story altogether--definitely didn't understand that one, especially when his ex-coach was lead man on the Suns for that draft.
