Cutting the beer cans made me tense.

Can't say enough about the cinematography of this show - it's beyond great.

First of all, there's nothing wrong with the "too obvious" answer on this show.

If it turns out to be Rust, there's nothing wrong with that. To me, it's not all about who the killer is. It's about watching these two detectives react to certain situations. It's about watching the transformation into what they eventually become. And it's about watching the story unfold. If the story happens to unfold into Rust or Hart being the killer then that's perfectly fine to me.

With that being said, I previously stated that I actually think it was Hart. I felt that all of the signs were pointing toward Rust, but there were certain undertones that made me believe it could be Hart.

I've completely changed my mind now. Watching him get so angry over what he saw at the bar, and then seeing him react the way he did... That's not a sign of a "ritual" type killer.

    Rust is still a possibility.

If I'm not mistaken, Rev. Tuttle has been quietly mentioned in every episode right? They seem to be deliberately keeping his name in the mix without shouting it out loud. That's a definite sign of a possible suspect to me.

Seriously. The scraping of the knife trough aluminum was hair-raising.

Episode 1 raised my interest. Episode 2 raised my dick. And Episode 3 is raising hairs. What's next?

Just noticed this, shared it on Reddit as well.

    Spoiler for size.

That's a fawn, aka a baby deer. Could 'The Ranch' be the first place where the girls are sent before joining the cult? Where the fawn grows into a deer?

    EDITED for ideas:

Hart says when arriving on Ranch: "Mayor probably has something invested in here" (along those lines). Mayor is Tuttle's cousin (who has been widely recognised as I suspect. So I can easily see this being a place where these girls arrive completely disoriented and are brainwashed/(possibly drugged?) into the church.

Speculation: Girl from Ranch that was friends with Dora and who Hart tried to get her to get out of there is the girl that is found dead in 2002.

    Hah so true.

Maybe panic level? Red flags as to who the killer is? HELL?!?!?

Some of you guys are missing the point of this show. Its not just to find out who the killer is, it's to observe the nature of these two detectives. They are deep characters and most of the show revolves around their flaws, hypocrisy, and wit which ultimately allows them to do their jobs well.
