Is it just me or does all the drama, dilly dallying, and wishy washy nature of this offseason reek of CAA's influence? So many conflicting reports, so many head scratching rumored teams popping up as destinations (i.e. Lakers and Cavs), and hints of collusion among players gives me the feeling there is a bigger power at play pulling the strings from behind the scenes. All the major players this offseason, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh are all represented by CAA. Oh, and it just so happens all their clients want to play with each other and form super teams. It must be good to be CAA...they're stringing the rest of the league and the media along with their huge charade.

It just seems they're always in some way, shape or form involved in a lot of the major player transactions and controversy; whether it be the Decision Pt. 1 and now Pt. 2, the Lin-Melo-Stephen A Smith-Knicks story, JR Smith's brother miraculously making the Knicks roster, and the fickle unpredictable nature of this offseason. Have they become the new lobbyists in Capitol Hill? Have they become too powerful?

LeBron isn't repped by CAA officially anymore. Rich Paul worked for/with Leon Rose at CAA. Rose being LBJ, Bosh and Melo's agent. Rich broke away from CAA to begin his own agency so this LBJ free agency drama has nothing to do with CAA. Just Rich Paul.

    Now Melo and Bosh....

Funny thing is a case can also be made that Wasserman have the larger client base and an equally strong one at that.
