But the thing that scares me is the chance to play with T-Money and Hill. Who would pass that chance up? I hope Im wrong though.

As oppossed to playing with Francis and Mobley, the backcourt Webber has already dubbed his favorite.

And where's the insurance that Hill will even be back before the middle of next year. And what kind of player will Hill be when he comes back? He is dealing with with a career changing injury.

And the one thing that makes all of this so bogus is the thought of C-Webb playing for four mil.

    edited for the following:
If Webber just wants to play with some great players then how about Iverson and Mutombo? Kobe and Shaq? Houston and Sqreewell? Oh and did I mention Francis and Mobley? All are currently better teams than the Magic with top calliber stars.

    let's back up a bit...
suppose CWebb shows up here, assuming that the front office cabal is not seized by Dream Sentiment again in the offseason and lets the big fella go be Robert Parish Part II and fade off into the NBA sunset. Who wants to design the offensive philosophy for a team whose best three players need to have the ball in their hands to be at their best? Are there enough touches to go around? Who's your go-to guy in the clutch? Those are the questions I would like to see answered here...
I personally have the Knicks as the slight favorite to win his services... The City that Nver Sleeps meets the Superstar who Needs Excitement.

    Yet another "automatic-to-the-Knicks" vote.

Suppose we all ignore the CWebber rumors. He will end up playing a few teams, like Anderson and Taylor!

payaso, I am tired of everyone asking if there will be enough shots to go around for Mobes, Francis and Webber. Francis only gets between 10 to 14 shots a game, I wish he would take more shots but he is just not that worried about how many points he scores.

Mobes averages a few more shots a game than Steve but its not like he averages 20+ shots a game like an Iverson or Stackhouse. There will be plenty of shots to go around for these three.

And as far as running ISO's for Mobes, Francis and Webber...check out the Rockets offense with Mobes, Francis and Mo, there is plenty of ISO's. Rudy T likes them and has no problem with them.

C-Webb would be a perfect fit.

OH and the clutch shot goes to who ever has the best miss match...Cat or C-Webb with a Steve thrown in sometimes. Once again not a problem'

I disagree. Webber is only a perfect fit in sega dreamcast games. You would sign Webber and ignore all of the other needs the rockets have. Sure, Webber is great, but then who will back up Cuttino because Shandon will be gone. Who would you put at SF? Who would you put at C? Walt and Cato? Of course, you have two superstars and one good player but no depth.

Let me ask it another way, suppose we do sign Webber, do you think Webber and Francis, and Cuttino good enough to beat Shaq, Kobe, and Fisher? I don't think they are. I would take Shaq over Webber. I would take Kobe over Francis and I would take Fisher over Cuttino.

Webber won't play for $4 mil on a team that has little championship hopes. I don't think he wants to go to the East, either (just my impression).

Now that Hakeem's out (Fu*k!) for the season and will probably never play in a Rockets uni again, the offseason hunt should be a bit more simplified. We will definitely be able to throw a large chunk of change at Webber, and since that's one less player we might have to worry about resigning (Hakeem), it might be easier to resign Shandon, Mo, and Mooch (in that order, given we get CWebb).

Also, without Hakeem, the playoffs are a long shot. Maybe we can pick up a C in the draft? I dunno.

I'm just looking for a bright side to losing Akeem...

    ?????????????????????

Webber can hit free throws, not to mention a wide variety of shots that Shaq probably has wet dreams about hitting. I wouldn't cheer for that prick Kobe Bryant if you payed me in cash and oral sex from Brittany Spears. And I assume you mistyped the Fisher over Cuttino thing. Go ahead and correct it...we'll wait. I dont really like the Lakers either, but I think they are a good comparsion here. Each team would have two great players and, in the rockets case at least, one good player. Neither team has much depth.

You got me, I am a Cuttino hater. Do I think Fisher has more talent than Cuttino? No I dont. But I do think he is a Smarter player. Shaq is better than Webber. Your free throw knock on him is WEAK. Francis can be better than Kobe but at this point I think Kobe is better, although I wouldn't call him Jordan, which is why people seem to think he is overrated.

Shaq is a hairless gorilla, only with less verbal ability. Also, I believe I expanded on the free throw knock by touting Webbers range. Also, Webber is a team player, which is why the Kings are ahead of the Lakers in the standings...while Kobe and Shaq throw their widdle tantrums and fight over the widdle orange ball. [IMG]

The standing have very little to do with which team is better. You should know that! Championships are what matters most, especially in this case. We are comparing teams and players in the same era with the same players the same coaches. Shaq and Kobe have rings and Webber and Co. have none.

Gascon, I can see not wanting Shaq, Kobe, and Fisher, but c'mon - would you really turn down Shaq if there was a snowball's chance of getting him? The man is a machine, and any team that got him would undoubtedly be better off than it was before.

But I'd prefer to keep Steve/Cat over Kobe/Fisher. I agree with you 100% there.

On NBAtalk it said that the Magic are ready
to offer Webber their 4mil space and McGrady is telling him about all the soul food restaurants in Orlando. Orlando can't possibly have better soul food than Houston
right? Hopefully Webber will enjoy playing
    Francis/Mobley rather than T-Money/Hill [IMG]

Now way Webb goes to Orlando for 3 years at such a low salary (before the team gets Bird rights). I could see a sign-and-trade, but he's not going to take anyone's mid-level exception.
