Harden is averaging 40-12-5 on 54 percent from the field and 50 from the three point line. Right now he and the Joker are the best players in the league and Harden is still nowhere near his Peake conditioning yet.

Get the hell out of here talking about trading him for a glorified spot up shooter.

Harden for CJ is even worse than Kawhi for Demar, and how have the Spurs looked since that trade? 1st round exit, missed the playoffs, and will probably miss it again this year. However, they’re not bad enough to get a great pick. They’ll be stuck picking in the 10-14 range.

that’s what people want trying to trade Harden for some guy barely younger than him who will never come close to being an All-Star in the West...

the spurs should have probably taken the lakers offer instead of trying to be petty.

you have got to be kidding me. Ego is nowhere near as good as CJ. thats a joke. better ball handler, shooter, finisher, facilitator, and shot selection.

they should’ve, but even then, Pelicans fans are really only happy because they ended up with Zion immediately post-AD

those dudes from the Lakers had the Pelicans on a 33 win pace with Zion out last year getting blown out often

You forgot to mention CJ had 11 assists. Not even Michael Jordan shot great every night but you find other ways to contribute. Are you saying Harden has never shot 7/21 before? Last season, Harden opened up the season with 1/8 from 3 and then 2/18 from 3 the very next game. CJ never shoots that badly. Ever.

For those keeping track at home, CJ only had 2 turnovers. In his previous game against Houston, he had 8 assists and 0 turnovers. In the first game of the season, CJ had 0 turnovers. I'm telling you, Houston fans would love CJ in place of Harden. It's all about opportunity. CJ joining Houston to be #1 option would be similar to Harden leaving OKC to become #1 option in Houston. He's that good.

Letting CJ score 44 is just another Tuesday for Harden on defense, I agree.

Sure he will. He's a career 40% three point shooter but he's only averaged 5.4 attempts. This season, he has decided to shoot more threes. It his highly likely he'll hit 9 or even more in a game again this season. He's a better pure shooter than Lillard.

Thank goodness Stone isn't making trades based off individual games.

    My god.

There won't be no more layups (insert 39499 layups) is at the forefront when I think of CJ more than his individual good game that he might replicate maybe once or twice the rest of the season.

You absolutely must love CJ. You're defending him so much. So, you're in the favour of us trading Harden for him?

He's nothing more than a very good player. He's not a top 10 player, and he's nowhere as good as Harden.

One player makes his own shot and the other takes more spot-up 3pt shots. Also, Harden shoots more 3pt shots than CJ does, so obviously Harden is going to be more streaky.

Popping in for the first time. I like CJ a lot ... prob more than most but why is this thread 5 pages long? CJ is already 29. No part of 29 fits our ask. Also,If he’s our best player he’s not helping us get any closer to a title than Harden. CJ is the type of player you’d hope to have as your 3rd best player in order to win a ring. Not as a main option or number 2.

I think folks here are too picky with their opinions.

Only an LA team or GSW (OKC with Durant) in the past could have had the luxury to have McCollum as the 3rd option IMHO.

The 3rd option on the Bucks is a 19 pt scorer Jrue Holiday, admittedly, he is the much better defender.
2nd option would be a 22 pt scorer.

I do not think many teams have much better options. It's an illusion of fantasy ball and not realistic.

Dude is a 24- 25 ppg scorer and getting better at playmaking gradually.
