If Harden is traded it will be for a YOUNG star. Not for a 29 year old that never made an all star team.
Lol, Klay, Steph all those guys ahead of him. The West has been loaded. It wasn't for the lack of trying. Career 39.2% 3 pt shooter.
I don’t have a problem with CJ individually. He’s just not the center piece for a Harden trade. That’s like the Spurs trading Kawhi for Derozan. If we make the trade it needs to be for somebody up and coming to pair with CWood.
True, and I would argue CJ is more valuable to Portland due to nostalgia and familiarity than to other teams. Portland losing to Utah in their first game, it showed. They always play well against certain teams such as the Rockets.
CJ doesn’t get enough love. Everyone is on Dames jock but CJ is so consistent. 2 FRP and EG for CJ who says no?
Are we seriously talking about Steve Urkel as the centerpiece of a Harden trade?! No we are not. He did have a great game though. Looked like Sleepy Floyd out there. I can honestly say we defended him well all night and he still made all of those shots. I can’t recall one open shot. He had a hand in his face or barely got shots off over fingertips all night.
McCollum is actually a huge reason why Portland has a glass ceiling. They will never win anything with him as an anchor next to Lillard, too small and not enough playmaking skills. As constructed their liabilities often offset a lot of their offensive greatness. On an actual contender he's offense off the bench, or he needs to play next to a tall, defensive minded PG. On championship teams you're a superstar, or you need to get paid less to perfectly complement a superstar.
Could be a start. plus Jones the young athletic forward and their best rookie and some picks. We are comparing practically the best game of Mcollum's life vs a game Harden can do about once a week with someone to lob to and some guys who can make wide open shots.
Difference is Harden does this on regular basis whereas this was a one off for CJ . Harden has more 40 point doubles then anyone to ever play the game. Next are Shaq and Jordan .
CJ’s career playoff averages: 20, 4, and 3 on 53% TS...the most he’s averaged in the playoffs is 25 ppg that’s him “stepping up” and “elevating his game” in the playoffs meanwhile, Harden averages 28, 6, and 7 on 58% TS for his Houston career in the playoffs, and the narrative is that he sucks in the playoffs, yet CJ would need a miracle from heaven to come close to Harden’s regular “garbage” playoff performance there’s levels to this For some reason, we’d love CJ for being much worse than Harden? Huh?
McCollum just had the 2nd highest scoring game of his life. He is the 2nd cog on his team. He was playing against a Rockets team with some serious unavailability - AND his team only managed to squeak out a win in O/T. No. He is 100% NOT whom you accept back in a James Harden trade. He is a "slightly better offensively" version of EGo, but not a patch on EGo on the defensive end. And gets paid 30% more. No thanks. He'd want to come with 10 first round picks attached PLUS a potential all-star young talent.
Harden is a playmaker extraordinar, A monster at putting pressure on the rim(see his 16 free throw attempts he relentless at attacking the rim). No one in the nba can put pressure on the opposing defenses like he can with his rim attacks or his step backs. Harden underrated defender As good as anyone controlling the tempo of the game. CJ is just a great jump shooter. He doesn’t attack the rim ( example his 2 free throws)nor is a good playmaker. This comparing a all time great to a very good spot up shooter
