bynum is not nearly as big, strong, or as good as yao. plus, he has no heart and no toughness, it's a big mismatch.
bynum was hitting his shots though. Bynum is inconsistent, but is capable of putting a good game together.
i heard plenty of "experts" say before the series started that bynum and yao would cancel each other out. uh, yeah right.
Bynum can't defend Yao. However, I think Chuck defends Bynum better than Yao. It's that entire "teamwork" thingy and one of the main reasons we're going to win our 2nd round series!
I hope the Lakers stay arrogant enough to defend Yao from behind the rest of the series. Yao eats up any center who tries to play him legit in the post.
bynum hit some good shots, he definitly has a lot of potential down the line if he can control his injury problem like all big men oden/yao. Yao once against stood up to the challenge. It seems like every big man wants to go up against Yao because hes the best center now and he does have limitation on mobility hencing allowing them to think they have a good chance against Yao. I'm glad Yao has time and time again stood up to the challenge and used his skills over his limit to mobility to destroy the challenge. Yao has pretty much won all one on one big man contest not labeled Shaq. Teams will pretty much have to double him I really cant see Bynum guarding and beating yao one on one, and I dont think laker will continue to do that. They will give the Rockets more hell if they double Yao, and thats when our role players like von/brooks/scola/artest need to step up and hit their shot. This playoffs Yao has really been representing the Houston Rockets and the 1.3 billion in China like a true warrior. I'm really proud of him. On a side note I bet Shaq is watching this series and probably one of the biggest cheerleader for Rockets, knowing how much he doesn't want kobe to win a ring without him and also his respect for Yao. Kind of funny, like to see him in Houston for game 3.
Let us see Dwight Howard, Bynum, Duncan are all considered better than Yao. Yao gets no respect but that is the way I like, who cares what the experts think.
i'm hoping bynum wasn't really hoping to "challenge" yao. i hope he was just more interested in getting to go up against the best center in the nba. i hope he was relishing but at the same time recognizing what a challenge it would be. the article did put a bit more of a bravado spin on bynum's words, and all the ensuing comments have made bynum sound as silly as pryzbilla before the portland series. either way, i'm guessing he's quickly learning why our big man will key our success in the playoffs. 11 more wins to go!
Bynum only wants Yao because he thinks the lakers have a better shot of going to the WCF against the Rockets and not the Blazers. Blazers own the Lakers this yr.
Really? I have before Bynum got injuried last year and this year. ESPN talking heads had him as the second best center in the league behind Howard.
