    i hope jason lane catches on somewhere else and does well. you know not too well, but enough to be on a roster.

    This was way overdue. They might have been keeping him all this time because they were afraid to give him up for nothing and they thought someone would pick him up if they tried to send him down. I assume they must've been trying to trade him couldn't get anyone to take him and finally decided that he would clear waivers. The only other reason I could see as to why we kept him over Burke earlier was that Lane has the arm for right field and Burke does not.

    It is about time this move was made. There was no good reason to keep Lane here. I have disagree with a couple of you, though. Don't be fooled into thinking this will be the last time that Lane will wear Astros Brick & Sand. He will be first in line in case of injury. I'd be willing to bet that he will be back this season.

    Prior to Pence arriving, Lane was by far the best and most consistent defensive outfielder the Astros had. He was a much better defensive center fielder than Burke.
