    LOL! But true.

Steve Francis on any given night can lead a team to victory.

Rafer Altson on any given night can lead his team to a loss.

Francis has gotten the beat down of life. Some guys don't need a beat down to learn life's lessons, but some do. JVG was an effective authority figure for him and said in the past that he has no problem with Steve Francis. I think Steve knows now who is boss and he's ready to do his best in his prime. If we can pick him up for the minimum, then it can only help. Francis should be willing to come off the bench and be a team player though. I've heard Francis say that he'd be willing to play that role both in Orlando and NYC.

I'm not certain how much gas SF has in the tank but honestly,

I do NOT want minutes taken away from our current players

the more minutes we play as a team the more we are prepared for the playoffs.

1.5 POINTS PER SHOT is a very gaudy number. It just witnesses to the fact of Francis' relentless attitude of taking it to the basket and drawing fouls. If he is bought out, he will probably have a whole lot of teams that want him and he will have his pick of where he wants to go. Frankly, I doubt he would consider coming back here. Probably still too soon and still represents too much disappointment to him. It takes a while for that stuff to heal over.

All the same, I think it is insane to think that the Knicks are going to buy him out when he is on a max contract and has 2 years, not 1, but 2 whole years left on that deal after this season is over. That's a pretty big buyout and all for nothing. Just totally wasted dollars and cap space. Can't see it happening. I could see the possibility of Philly and the Knicks working a trade however.

I think stevie franchise would come back if jeff asks him to. Even with his faults, he'd be an upgrade over rafer. his defense is no worse than rafers, and can actually finish at the rim. Rebounding would be even better, and can get to the line. JVG coached Rockets haven't been known for their offense, so any player who can help in that department would be welcomed. He's loosened the reigns alittle since the last time he coached SF. Plus, if ever we needed that "vocal" leader, that "bobby sura", he could be it. He'll stick up for our guys.

I would love to see both steve and webber on this team. People forget how good these guys can be and have been on good teams. Even now Webber is a great passer and jump shooter...this will be needed once juwan inevitably cools down.

Steve Francis brings toughness and competitiveness along with talent which we lack as a team. At worst the addition of these two guys will make us a deeper team and at best a dominant one.

    my god...steve francis as PG!!?

i guess you have forgotten when you HAD to watch rockets games with beer...bonehead play after bonehead play. We would lose to ANY team on ANY given night...and this was when a .5 win avg would get you into the playoffs guaranteed.

maybe yao can hook up steve as PG for Shanghai Sharks. Noooo to Steve

that was when he was the best player on the team and felt he had to score. now he wont dribble as much because he will handle to ball less. instead of watching rafer and jl3 miss wide open floaters every game, we can see francis take it to the basket and dunk on people or at least finish.

    Say NO to Steve

He is NOT a spot up shooter, he is NOT a great D player, he is NOT a great passer.
These are the 3 areas we need the most from our PG position.

Steve has a big ego IMO. I don't think he will want to come back because the Rockets traded him after he made it to the playoffs.
A possible buyout also suggests that he might not be fully healthy otherwise the Knicks might get some value for him in a trade.
I appreciated the effort he put in his last year with us but unless he has matured as a person and wants to come back and work for the good of the team I wouldn't consider him at all.

Can not agree any more with you.
By the way , SF3 is much more handsome than RA.
    Say, TMAC+YAO+SF3+SB+CH……

If we could aquire Webber cheap and we could be confident he was content with what his role would be then we would consider him. Francis is not coming back. Burned bridges, bad fit, I'm not sure that even if he would play for free if we'd take him.

Steve is no A.I. though. At least when Allen ball hoggs he makes his shots.

Also, we dont know how Melo and Allen will work together since they have yet to play a bame together.

Steve has shown plenty of times his willingness to defer. He is an improvement over Rafer in literally EVERY SINGLE PART OF THE GAME.

    Come home, Stevie!!! *prays*

Upgrade yes, will SF fit in with our team NO! We dont need another ball hogg on top of Rafer! and yes Steve does make his shots more often :)

And I don't think this deal is going to make any difference to either team so whats the point?
