I say if they get francis, you keep bonzi wells and you get a big man for the TE.

im beginning to like the idea more and more as we see that vspan and jl3 cannot handle it and i don't want to see more than 30 min from rafer in the playoffs.

i hope we can make this happen without getting rid of bonzi.
or we can get chucky atkins for te

I'm all for Atkins or Franchise. As long as we can move Sura and Padgett for another big. How about Gadzuric?

I would definitely love to get Stevie Franchise as our PG to split time with Rafer. Rafer and Fracis would give us a great 1/2 punch at the PG spot... but I don't really think we'll be lucky enough to get Steve Francis.

a buyout now doesn't look likely this season with starbury having knee problems of his own.

Crawford and Robinson can man the pg position and Marbury looks pretty good with 22 against the Lakers tonight...As I type this I am hoping they hold on to win this because it puts more space and seperation between the pretend darkhorse and the real deal...

I think the main factor would be a financial one. Does anyone know how exactly does the buyout works? What would be the scenario that is financially most beneficial for Knicks?

He already had his chance with JVG. I don't see what he could add to us. He doesn't distribute well. He doesn't shoot that well from the outside. Defense is average at best and he cant seem to score without being the focus of the offense. We really need Kenny Smith back.

If you can trade Bonzi + Sura for PJ Brown, then I'd take a chance on SF3. Steve would be motivated and knows the system.

We'd add PJ who is a solid team guy that would do well under JVG and gives us that extra big body we need.

SF3 can still be a 3rd scoring threat ...at least enough of a threat to penetrate to the basket if both Yao and TMac are doubled. Plus SF3 would add a healthy dose of competition for the starting spot.

If you can't do BOTH deals, I wouldn't do either.

Um no, Steve is a cancer to every team he plays for, ie Magic and Knicks. Hell, he cant even hack the starting rotation on a sub-500 team in the East. On the other hand, with Browns class and professionalism, JVG will utilize him in the best possible way. In other words, the "anti-cancer". Say yes to Brown, but no to Francis!

Um, no. PJ Brown adds nothing to this team regardless of bringing francis aboard. If they traded Bonzi for him, i'd be pissed because it's a major mistake.

Again, sign francis and keep bonzi. Then rafer/steve become the backup pg they need. And use the TE to get your big man body.

Francis wouldn't be coming here to be anything more than a role player and he would know that coming in, or you move on without him.

No he's not. The magic were not any good when he was there because howard was raw, and oh boy without him they are a whopping 23-22 this year.

As far as the knicks, they have a glut of good guards in marbury, crawford, richardson. And francis got hurt. They would suck either way.

If francis came here on the vet minimum he would know the situation. That is you are splitting the pg min with alston and you are anywhere from the 3rd to 5th option on the team with yao-tracy. If he wasn't cool with it, they don't sign him.

If you ask francis to play a limited role(ie make open shots, drive to the hole when they contest you) he can flourish because he's not being asked to do too much.

Edit: Look at antoine walker in miami. He was deemed a ballhog/cancer in boston, dallas and atlanta.

He gets to miami where he knows he is the 3rd option after shaq/wade at best, and he is a productive member of a championship team.

Yes...This is exactly what I am about to say!

Plus there is no way Alston will be better than SF3...

Once thing we know about JVG is he won't put players on the court unless he feels they are ready to play (ahem ...see Bonzi). Bring SF3 here for the league minimum. If he doesn't want to play nice, he'll rot on the bench. But I doubt that because JVG and SF3 were actually getting along pretty well before he was traded.

I really want steve francis to join our club. i don't think it relaly will be possible but he would be a GREAT addition to our team, providing a decent shooter, a great cutter/finisher around the basket/and another ball handler. I don't want two rookies to be our starting PG for our future, and luther head inevitably cannot handle the ball worth crap.

    GET STEVE FRANCIS CD!

He and Malbury basically took turns. Malbruty made mistake, SF subed in, and SF made mistake, Malbury was in. Zeke is an idiot. Let SF go.
