[Buying advice] Playstation 3

it's too late now, I'm just going to pay extra to extend the manufacturers warranty. I love my PS3 too much.

ok, i have a PS3 in the back of my wife's car. my buddy checked the properties on it or whatever and said "you have a 40gb PS3". i was like "ok".

now, i've read this thread because i want to know more about it seeing as i primarily watch movies from the back of my wife's car as opposed to actually playing games. i will be getting an 80gb PS3 from Best Buy as part of my home theater system (52" Samsung HGTV, Klipsch surround sound and Yamaha receiver).

what i'm reading is that the 80GB has about an 80% backwards compatability (meaning it will only play about 80% of PS1 and PS2 games).

can someone confirm if i am correct in this assumption !?!?

I've heard the 80gb model is around 85% BC.

If you know what games you will want to play, you can check out the PlayStation site and see if it is compatible with the 80GB PS3. If there are any problems, it will tell you what they are (EX: audio problems on disc 2 20% of the time or whatever).

ok, i'm currently playing a season of NBA Live 08 on PS2. i haven't tried playing it on my PS3 in my car but i was just wondering.

i did a fantasy draft when the season started (6th pick in the draft). this is my current Rockets team.
