There you go! Interesting topic. We're looking to get a sedan sometime in '06, so I'm eyeing what's on the market. Thought I'd mention that we test drove an ES 330 during a rainstorm, one with a nav/upgraded sound system, and the sound was fabulous, along with the ride and lack of exterior noise. You could hardly tell it was raining outside... just super quiet. Between these two, I'd lean towards the 330i, as far as looks go, and I know they corner on rails. Both are great cars, and there are several others out there as well. Something I'd look for would be memory seats. My wife and I are quite different in size, and pushing a button that adjusts the seat, along with the rear and side-view mirrors, to fit each of us has enormous appeal.
! Definitely not...he woulda whooped my ass. But he was going fast enough to spur me on! I see your point. The old 300 was definitely underpowered and was decently priced. But the new 250, imo, is SERIOUSLY underpowered, for the money/quality. I'm not arguing that the 350 should be $30,000, just that, everything included, topping $46k seems a little much. To be completely fair, I have the same opinion on the 3-series. Interesting. Hadn't heard as many horror stories on the Nissan/Infiniti line. I'm still going to wait to see how the new G35 compares, and until the new IS becomes more readily available. jw1144 - My opinion was only based on a few uses of the product. To be more clear, I like the fact that there isn't a key, and the push button start, I found the lock/unlock thing kind of confusing. The first thing I did when I locked it at the store was to check to make sure it was locked, but by design, that unlocks it. Something about a car that unlocks like that when the key-fob is nearby just doesn't seem safe, either. I'm sure once you use it a bunch, you get used to it, but personally, I never felt like pushing a button to lock/unlock the car was that difficult.
i was deciding on a used 5 series before and took it to the bmw dealership to have it checked.. i told the service manager i was deciding between pre owned lexus gs or bmw 5.. he told me go with lex coz its far more reliable..
I've had both a Lexus and I own a BMW right now. Before we purchased it, we were concerned that BMW was too high maintenance. However, I've had it since April of last year and have not had a single problem with it. As far as the 350 vs. 330, BMW has the bigger brand name, but the 350 has the better look.
buy a honda accord. take the difference in what you'd spend and give it to someone who needs it more than you do. or buy the one you want.
The only BMW i've driven was a M3 (I think) and the only Lexus I've driven was one of the smaller IS (I think).. I would take the BMW ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.. It was like night and day to me... I dont know crap about the new Lexus or BMW, but I do like the outside of the Lexus better, but I think I'd buy the BMW because their price holds so well..
I will give you this guys: both the 3series and the IS lines are way overpriced. Why a compact lux sedan would cost anywhere near 40k is beyond me. That's the one thing I have always respected about Acura and Infiniti to a certain degree: they're reasonably priced. I can only hope that they won't go crazy and start matching the Bimmer and the Lexus in price with their future models. IMO, you should not have to fork over more than 35k for a compact lux sedan. If Acura ever decides to offer a rear-wheel or AWD versions of their TL and TSX vehicles (for a few grands more than they currently cost), they will seriously undercut the 3-series and the Lexus in sales. IMO, I just think that this whole segment is overpriced. Really, except for their base models (the IS250 or the 325i), it seems like there is a HUGE jump in price beyond the base models.
Tough one, but may be it would be easier if you specify which 'class' or type of vehicle you're looking for (i.e. large/small SUV, sports sedan, pony car, etc.)?
Depends. I'm not sure how they are reliability, but the Chrysler 300C seems like a pretty cool car for around 35K. A friend's Dad just got one a few months ago and I was surprised that a car that size had the speed and acceleration that it did. I know it has the overhyped HEMI, but it sure did throw you back in the seat when you hit the gas.
looking for a non-suv...leaning towards g35 coupe and is 250..obviously if i choose is250..i'll be waiting several months for the price to come down
