Sorry to break it down for you dude(or am I?) but that's not the butterfly effect.
Anyhow...the bottom line is that because of basketball reason we aren't getting a good pick in the upcoming draft. Or at least so it seams so far.

Because Gasol is really, really good and Nene is really, really good and Lin is really, really good.

Hey I've got an idea. Let's start a Jeremy Lin thread! Did you know he got cut by the Rockets? We only have 57 threads on the guy, that's not enough for the pure awesomeness that is Lin.

Wow, I just joined this site yesterday as a long-time Rocket fan. Not too much info about the players that are actually ON the team.

    Flynn before Flock!!!!

Of all the teams that were screwed by the trade I think the Rockets were affected the least. Poor New Orleans, destroyed for basketball reasons... you would have to think that a roster with Scola, Lamar Odom, Dragic, KMart and say Xavier Henry would have at least 13 wins. Lakers are also screwed, but still have championship potential. The Rockets are so good that even their scrap PGs can drop 25,8,8 on teams (See John Lucas and Jeremy Lin)

This is what the board has become since Lin has gone off.

    Lin before the Flynn.

Methinks OP needs to watch the Butterfly effect starting Ashton Kutcher, Michael Keaton, and Nicole Kidman.

Never thought of it that way.. Good point. Gasol trade went through, we woulda had kept Lin.

So since we're 16-11 that means we wouldn't want to have Jeremy Lin? Nice logic!

Because of basketball reasons, Les Alexander may have lost a cash cow that would have allowed him to tap the lucrative Chinese Market. An immensely huge opportunity loss.
