I find it humorous that anyone is deciding who the steal is at this point. Let's see at least a few meaningful games before we reach a decision. We only know one thing; we came out ahead. Scenario 1: Second-Round pick and expiring contract (basically) for Starting PF and great backup C -We win big.- Scenario 2: Second-Round pick and expiring contract (basically) for Starting PF and scrub C who's contract expires soon -We win handily.- Scenario 3: Second-Round pick and expiring contract (basically) for Great backup C and another PF to fill the rotation (though nothing special) -We win.- Scenario 4: Second-Round pick and expiring contract (basically) for Scrub C with expiring contract and another PF to fill the rotation (though nothing special) -We barely win.- Scenario 5: The end of the world. -Draw- I'll take it.
Butler has some raw talents, just look at his numbers in NY. It'll be his contract year soon, he might be smart enough to work out his fat ass. That will get us another steal!
I wouldn't count Butler as anything but some one packaged with Scola that we had to take to make the San Antonio deal workout.
