I wouldn’t have gotten my hopes up if I wasn’t seeing report after report from Rockets people as well as guys like Amick showing how confident the organization was, Morey liking comments on Instagram, the Rockets shopping EG, Tuck, and Capela for a SnT, etc The Rockets did everything they possibly could to get people’s hopes up.
True those reports weren't helping. For a split second my hopes were up, but then I reminded myself that several things have to go right for it to happen.
they’re gonna look like absolute fools if they were this confident, did all this maneuvering, and we were never seriously on his radar The Heat? Really? I’ll remain hopeful until the bitter end
Lol Morey literally liked a mans tweet on Twitter that said "Lets get Jimmy". If your GM is doing **** like that, it better be a sure ****ing thing.
https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sp...iff-competition-in-quest-to-land-14061558.php The Rockets on Thursday lined up a variety of deals with teams to provide the Sixers with options of assets, including picks, from other teams, or a pair of their own starters, center Clint Capela and guard Eric Gordon. With the possibility that they could be moving Capela, the Rockets arranged a meeting for Sunday with Warriors center Kevon Looney. Looney is also expected to weigh a return to the Warriors, but the Rockets could use the help inside even if they do not land Butler, necessitating a deal to move Capela.
It's still a bit mystifying why he'd want Miami. I guess D-Wade has told him about the wild Miami nights lol
“The Rockets are extremely confident in landing Butler. Team sources not only believe the Rockets have a good shot to land the Texas native but also that they have a firm place in the lead for him.” stuff like this was being reported just 2 days ago
You're exactly right. The Rockets have run a hype train straight into every fan's face about Jimmy Butler.
The rockets do this everytime. Pursue impossible superstar while all our role players slowly vanish. Like someone said, it was all a ploy to save more money.
I have no idea why everyone is so down. Everyone on here sounds like a bunch of children. There is great reason for optimism. Still think we are the favs.
It's honestly a little weird to me how invested in this stuff you guys get. I read it all. I'm interested. But I'm not invested. If we don't get Butler I'll just be like "well who's next?" but I'm seeing some of y'all talking about how humiliating it would be and how we won't get over the hump if we don't get him. It's not life or death to me at all. Honestly, after seeing their list of alternate targets I'd really be good with it if we bring back more or less the same team and just add a strong role player or two. I don't believe the Lakers are getting Kawhi and that's the only thing that would really scare me. It's looking like it's going to shape up to a lot of teams with star duos and will come down to who has the best team. Also, Lebron is old and AD is injury prone and Kawhi is injury prone too. So really even if they add Kawhi I'm not sure they'll withstand the full season without losing a guy. The Rockets will be fine with or without Butler.
But yet folks want to be carried to a NBA Title by one guy. And when the team fails, it's all on one guy. The Rockets have to build a Championship roster.
