http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5746523 Welcome to the Kwame club Greg Oden and that XxX pic you took doesnt help either Portland sure would love to have that pick again and pick KD ...
It just means he will be a Rfa. He will be theirs unless they dont match the offer of whatever team attempts to sign him. He will get a qualifying offer from someone, size and rebounding dont grow on trees anymore.
In order for that to happen he has to prove that he can stay healthy for a whole season which he hasn't done yet.
Atleast Greg Oden is productive when he does play. Kwame and Thabeet just suck ass healthy OR injured...
That would probably be the case for Sam Bowie as well. There should be a separate list for legit busts and injury busts. I'm genuinely interested in a list that ranks lottery pick players who never reached their potential as a result of injuries. When it comes to legit busts as a result of lack of talent, my top two picks are Kwame and Darko. Though I'm convinced Kwame could've turned into a decent rotational player had he been more passionate for the game.
It could still work out for the Blazers. If he re-signs to a non-max deal, then stays healthy. Franchise C on a bargain basement deal.
Haha, but they still extended Rudy Fernandez despite his long-standing dislike of the offense and the coach and wanting to go back to Europe. Funny. Maybe it's because he's cheaper?
Well, he's in for a paycut. He's getting almost $7M this year and the qualifying offer is nearly $9M! This is a guy that rebounds very well, gets his points very efficiently....but is a TO and foul machine (both years he's somehow managed a rate of a foul every 5 minutes). And he's played in less than half of the games of his career. That said, he'd still be a top 5 or 7 pick if that draft was redone. Not much to choose from.
