Tree, what type of salary (or range) can someone in a Junior Business Analyst position expect to earn?

    Quick pro tips---

    Save all documents in PDF.
Arrange CV in a variant of this form---
    http://www.mergersandinquisitions.com/investment-banking-resume-university-student/

I don't know where you are, but I'd be watching the MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG), Roland Berger, Oliver Wyman for consulting, for general strategy within a corporation look for an interesting industry or a major corporation in the area (Personally, I once had a watchlist that went something like this---GE, P&G, all the top 7 brand pharma, and Google (yes, they hire business analysts through BOLD)).

Once you land the interview, prepare for the standard behavioral/case questions as it is, and research the company itself and come up with questions that show you give a s**t about the company, and are bright enough to proactively come up with your own lines of inquiries.

ideally, tailored suit, plain white handkerchief, cufflinks and a tie clip if desired.

    then you pon de floor.

also, come up with unique answers.

    @GSElevator
#1: I asked him what his life goal is, and he said 'to make the obituary in The Economist.' #2: Great answer. #hired

I would be put off by that answer.

Acclaim is a shallow life goal.

gselevator is more satire than anything.

but then again, getting onto the Economist obituary requires you to either sink a bank or to build one, if not lead a country or industry.

succinctness and confidence are often key

unless your life goal is something like to bring democracy to China, that is (I suppose)

    No idea really... check salary.com

When you find yourself in this position, answer the question to the best of your ability and try to throw in an anecdote on how you are trying to improve your skills.

saw this on Yahoo today and caught my eye about the 'blun't cover letter
    http://finance.yahoo.com/news/kid-s...-people-are-trying-to-hire-him-151518002.html

My cover letters are similar to this, not nearly as blunt obviously, but more honest. I'm not sure if it led to me getting any interviews (or if they even read those cover letters) but I mean I was able to accept a consulting position that I really wanted with a cover letter similar to this one during fall recruiting at my uni. It wasn't as blunt as "ill be willing to get coffee" but it was honest and personal.

So yeah, my suggestion, is don't turn into a robot. The main thing is to differentiate yourself and make yourself memorable. This is the one thing that I have learned while interviewing. Remember, everyone is going to have qualifications, and they are all not going to bomb the interview. That CV I posted was different and was memorable, that's why it's been successful. Same thing in interviews, differentiate yourself, and it can be in any way, if you can't differentiate yourself in terms of qualifications, be funny, or show them you REALLY want the job more than anyone else etc.

Hey, I am an MIS major and am looking for an internship for this summer. I was wondering if your company has any internship opportunities?
