Yeah, it's coming from Lucky who is a moderator. I can't imagine he would just be making up numbers. However, this one I find hard to believe. Leinart - 37" vertical, 9'5" broad jump.
I believe those numbers are correct -- and if they are with Reggie's resume' he is a number one pick.
http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/9353513 The results … SOUTHERN CAL: APRIL 2 They ran outdoors on AstroTurf, which was a fast surface. All 40-yard dash times were clocked electronically, which historically adds about 8/10 of a second to the actual time. For instance, if someone ran the 40 in 4.50 seconds, it really means he ran it in about 4.42 seconds. Player Position Gil's comments Darnell Bing S Bing (6-1¾, 225) ran his 40s in 4.63 and 4.53. Had a 10-foot-5 long jump, 38-inch vertical jump, and 21 lifts. Reggie Bush RB Bush (5-11, 202) ran his 40 in 4.33. Had a 10-foot-9 long jump, 40½-inch vertical jump,. Fred Matua G Matua (6-2 3/8, 301) ran his 40s in 5.06 and 5.19. For a guy over 300 pounds to run a 40-yard dash in a theoretical time under fiv seconds, then he made a lot of money today and will shoot up draft boards. He also had a 30-inch vertical and 26 lifts. Frostee Rucker DE Rucker (6-3¼, 261) ran his 40s in 4.80 and 4.81. Had a 9-foot-7 long jump and a 35-inch vertical jump. Scott Ware S Ware (6-1¼, 213) had a 36½-inch vertical jump. He did not run. Thanks for the link Real Shady. Is that 4.33 corrected for the electronic timer, or does that mean he ran closer to 4.25?
Or he's overweight and really slow. I called this months ago. May still be a good player, but he just cost himself millions of dollars.
I had heard on the radio the other day that Bush was working his ass off and was ready to impress many people. Looks like he totally tore it up. On the other hand, Lendale White with 15 reps??? Thats pretty bad.
To put Bush's time into prespective, it makes him the 5th fastest player in the draft, behind CBs Tye Hill, Jonathon Jackson, and Tim Jennings, and WR Chad Jackson, who all ran 4.32 or lower at the Combine, which was also electronically timed. Pretty damn impressive that a RB is faster than basically every CB and WR in the draft.
Electronic timers are much more accurate than hand timing - I have no idea why they are saying we should subtract .08 -- makes zero sense. If Reggie ran a 4.33 with an e-timer - then it's a 4.33 not a 4.25.
